From the Catholic perspective, we must remain chaste - like all Catholics are called to chastity until marriage.
The inclination to homosexuality is not sinful in itself. It is only when this inclination manfests himself in "active homosexuality" as you say, not without result.
Let's be "real" for a moment. . . Despite their efforts, expect God to go through life without "sex"? The truth is possible, but extremely difficult.
We hope you can accomplish this. Imagine the reward of God will have for you when you go to heaven!
If you slip up, just remember that the capacity for forgiveness is greater than the capacity of mankind for sin. Repent and you will be forgiven.
Wow, 'KKK Robert' has three thumbs up to call someone a homo. Real quality people on these boards … religion is for me! No. .. not so much.
Yes, no matter what anyone says. All you have to do is believe in Christ to be a "Christian". His works are not important.
WHY NOT???
Jesus never mentions homosexuality as a sin. He speaks lovingly about Sodom and Gomorrah. In fact, said that on the Day of Reckoning sodomites will fare better than the Jews! Dig this … Jesus will judge the world and is already saying the outcome of proceedings in the Holy Tribunal of Justice! No judge in the world is so sincere, or stupid!
Matthew 11:24 (NIV) But I say it will be more tolerable for Sodom on the Day of Reckoning, which for you. "*
(*) Jesus is proving to have more love and favoritism for homosexuals than for their own people the Jews! He also said that even prostitutes enter his Kingdom ahead of the Jews!
God the Son Jesus Christ * (* the future judge of the world) sees nothing wrong in Sodom except for the normal routine of everyday life … Note that Jesus is the only heir of the universe … The old God will start the cube and one day Jesus will take care of …
Luke 17:28-29 (NIV) "It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and construction. But the day Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all .* (* God the Son, Jesus Christ never mentioned homosexuality as a sin of Sodom, but living without worries! Nobody beats Jesus to judge anyone!)
There unfulfilled prophecies in the Old Testament about the full restoration of Sodom and Gomorrah on the situation they were just before their destruction!
Ezekiel 16:53, 55 (NIV) "However, * (* God) will restore the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters and Samaria and her daughters, and your luck with them … [55] and your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters return to what they were before, and you and your daughters back to what they were before.
Read Romans chapter one, then read, 1 John chapter one, then you tell me? Only you know if you read his word and hear what he tells you.
Homosexuality in thought and action is sin. God hates all sin and while we love the sinner. He is not willing that any should perish person, but all through repentance to come to faith in Jesus, whose sacrifice covers all sin. He hates sin because of what it does to us, because it separates us from God.
If for no other reason, because homosexuality is outside of marriage is sin and God does not recognize any gay marriage, always beyond their control. But more than this was never God's intention that our bodies perform such acts, his word is clear about this.
I personally believe that homosexual sin, but is clearly an "abomination" in God's eyes, has created a culture of hatred within the Christian community. We Christians have allowed this particular sin to bring us to a position of condemning judgments of others. We are all too easy to focus on the "stain" in the eyes of other people without taking into account the "table" in ours. In the final analysis, when opening the books, Christians will be judged according to the measure of trial that we were at the doors of others.
We Christians would do well to remember how Jesus handled the case of the prostitute, caught in the act of adultery when he said: "He who is without sin cast the first stone" and when anyone approached her CONDEM, Jesus CONDEM also denied his, but told him to go and sin no more. He hated sin no less depth of compassion he had for the sinner.
I also think the real problem is not necessarily homosexual sin is worse than any other sin, every evil that comes out of the swamp. No, the real problem is that many people have bought into the lie that this particular sin is not really sin. What makes this lie the more dangerous is the fact that "so-called tolerant society hetrosexual has also bought into the same lie.
I confess that I too am a sinner saved by God's grace. I confess that, as a Christian I am also guilty of voluntary sin hanging on trying to justify myself. As such, I am not able to throw the first stone, but even if he was sinless, like Jesus, by example, would clearly be a "Christ in me to lead a holy sin, hatred of the sinner.
In conclusion, (and through the preaching to myself) if you are a Christian (and you should know, but please make sure you know) and then the love I tell you that you must address the truth about his sin. If at least do this, then God will help you be free from slavery. If you are not sure that you have committed your life to Christ, then you can have both release from this bondage and salvation of this day to possess the truth, repenting of your sins and invite Jesus to become the Lord of his life here and now, as you are.
His choice of religion and gender preference have nothing to do with each other. As part however, the fan of all religions condemn him for being gay, why would you want to join one?
I think so. The books of the Bible rather than the animals are safe to eat, how to speak in tongues correctly and how to be a good slave-owner of what he says about homosexuality. Recognizing that the Bible can be a very good, very important tool for growth spritually but it does have some things wrong because they were written by individuals in a particular context at a particular point in history, then you can do no problem at all.
I do not think God is so concerned about what you do with your organs reproductve as "he" is about war, poverty, disease and the fact that the treatment of garbage, like the others.
By the way … if anyone is curious … the story of Sodom and Gomorrah was not about homosexuality, it was the violation of the laws of hospitality, which was a big problem before people invented hotels. How can we even see Lot as righteous when offered to give more of their daughters to be raped in their place?
I guess if you want your life is a contradiction
It can not, homosexuality is a sin. While the Lord will forgive all sin, you have to turn from sin. If I were a prostitute, do you think could be a Christian, and still sell my body knowing it is a sin. Absolutely not. Sin is sin and an abomination to God.
The three very different belief systems, so there is no answer to your question … at least not without a thorough study of them all. Christians believe many different things when it comes to homosexuality.
If you are really interested in having a relationship with God, the first step is to accept Jesus in your life and begin a daily walk with him. Then, through prayer and study all your questions about what lifestyles are appropriate or not will be evident. This is something that has to work for yourself, with God instead of listening to a myriad of reasons that someone might give for why homosexuality is a sin.
Order the answer to the big question, "Where will I spend eternity" … That all the trivial things worldy look after himself.
You do not need a religion to come to light.
addition to not accept his sexuality. clearly they are wack jobs
Yes, no one can force you to be a religion they are.
Yes, I think religion is something that comes from within - you what religion you choose to be. Whether or not the rest of the community think it's ok … Well, it depends on how conservative / liberal is available where you live.
God created us and gives us free will (free moral agent), I would ask this question again, why do you want to be gay?, When God created man and woman only .. So being a Protestant, Catholic or Christian is not the question of God, the question is changed spiritually? If you want to become a true child of God to be surrendered to homosexuality to God .. God is a God who forgives and loves his soul, God bless!
The Metropolitan Community Church is specifically designed for gay men, and many others are welcoming to gays. No fundamentalists, of course, but most liberal churches that recognize as a human love is more important than being specifically heterosexual.
not first, do not see why you want to be gay, girls are much better
second is not u cannot be a Christian and be gay at the same time
Being gay is not in itself a sin (I'm Catholic), but they are called to chastity as others.
I hope help
FALLON
You can be an active homosexual, but the clergy and some of his congregation would disapprove of their lifestyle if they knew. Some people still think it's a "sin" and I think it is a choice.
There are Christian churches where he was welcomed, but it depends on personal attitudes toward homosexuality that the priest or pastor has.
You may not be an active Christian and remain an active homosexual. It is a sin and totally against what God teaches. I pray that you will choose God, because you can not serve God and Satan a. You must make a choice and you make will determine your eternity.
Sorry, your gay. You'll have to repent.
Why bring a god who thinks you're "sin"?
Define "active homosexual".
Sin is not acceptable to God ……….
Does that help???
Ok I will be more clear …… not sin! Being a Christian by all means …… like giving up homosexuality!
In our current culture of churches excuse sin, of course, you can continue in their perversion and be one of those so-called Christian
Now, God approves of sin, to be the main issue, it does not. God is no excuse for any sin in my life, not anybody. Reading the Word of God and repent of their sins. Living for Christ and be freed from the slavery of sin.
Homosexual acts are sinful, but all sin.
"For not every sin, however grave, is like nature to break a man's body the Church, like the schism or heresy or apostasy. Men may lose charity and divine grace through sin, thus becoming incapable of supernatural merit, and yet be deprived of life if they cling to faith and Christian hope, and if lit from above are stimulated by the interior promptings of the Holy Spirit healthy fear and move to prayer and penance for their sins.
"Let everyone hates sin, and pollutes the members of the mystique of our Redeemer, but if someone falls and unfortunately his stubbornness has not unworthy of communion with the faithful, is received with great love, charity and let eager to see in him a weak member of Jesus Christ. For, as Bishop of Hippo comments, it is better to be cured within the community of the Church to be separated from his body as members incurable. "As a member of the body part still no reason to despair of its cure, once it has been cut, can be neither cured nor healed." (Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis Christi, 23, 24 ) http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_x …
Catholic GLBT community has an organization called Dignity. If most Catholics do not recognize it. . . but it is there.
It would be contrary to Christian teaching (I am a Christian though)
Jude 1:7 (NIV) says:
"In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. "
Leviticus 18:22 says:
"And with a man who does not find that a man lies with a woman is an abomination. "
and Leviticus 20:13 says:
"If a man has sex with a man as with a woman, both have done what is detestable. They should be sentenced to death, their blood shall be upon their heads. "
So do not … would be impossible to reconcile the Bible verses with being gay …
No, if approved sin. If you think it is good to be active, then no. If you ever make a mistake and are active and then repent and realize that it is wrong and not try to do it again, then it is possible to be Christian.
Yes you can. As you have confessed to God that you are a sinner and have asked forgiveness, and believe in Christ who died for your sins he took with him on the cross, then was resurrected from the dead, then yes, that's what makes you a Christian. You are still saved and your name will remain written in the book of life. You will be accepted into the kingdom of heaven reguardless of your sin no mistake, homosexuality is a sin, but it's a sin for those who take the Lord's name in vain. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Homosexuality can be forgiven just like any other sin can. When a person is saved does not necessarily mean he / she will never sin, but when you are forgiven, all is forgiven their sins, past, present and future. That does not mean you should go on sinning, if you can help, of course. You strive to be more like Jesus, who had no sin, but just because you live as a homosexual does not mean you can not love the Lord with all your heart and soul. If you have accepted Christ as their savior, will most likely feel guilty about that kind of lifestyle because God will put the burden on your heart, but you can choose to live with the guilt if that's the way you more comfortable. God still love you reguardless, once forgiven, always forgiven.
The Christians, we are on this earth to judge others. We are all sinners. We must strive to be more like Jesus who was sinless, and encourage other Christians to do likewise, but DO NOT try any person NO! That is the work of God alone! Jesus says to sinners who are forgiven, go and sin no more. Let God do the work in those who remain. He will never leave them nor forsake thee, therefore, will work their hearts in their own time and way. Loving the sinner, not sin! That is what Jesus taught!
The priest will say no. Leviticus is quoted, but leave out the parts where Leviticus tells us to banish children who disobey their parents, it's a sin to wear clothes of mixed sources (Cotton / poly blends are sinful) or sow seeds of different crops in the same plot of land (yes, it's a sin for the cycle of corn to soybeans.)
I say yes. The study of faith, believe that faith is a relationship between you and God. If you feel that God loves you the way you did, then who will argue?
A wise preacher once said that you do not choose to preach on the things that Jesus never preached about himself. I felt it was a bit presumptuous to assume they know what Jesus would have had to say. Leviticus is "old" testament, there are only 3 references to homosexuality in the New Testament, and neither are the words of Jesus.
