Catholic Priests and answer this - the masturbation?
I know that masturbation is a sin and that practically no longer do so, but I feel so guilty.
But I just can not tell the father that I masturbated. I am 14 and I'm sorry but I can not get those words from my mouth as I am so embarrassed and ashamed.
If you just do not do more and forgiveness of God is this good? Is it a mortal sin that I must apologize for or can I say sorry to God privately?
No funny answers please … Only priests and Catholics please.

Sure, you can confess to God, he will understand if you feel uncomfortable confessing to a priest. But just so you know, priests do not have to account for their sins once we confess, sins are gone, are not sins because you have asked for forgiveness and God has forgiven.
Well it is a mortal sin, and as such must be confessed. You have already repented, and the sound really sorry for what all that remains is to go to confession, if necessary, to all mortal sins.
Now, remember they are not the only 14 who have had to do this I imagine that most kids have to confess that at one time or another, myself included. I can guarantee that the priest not be surprised or shocked tell you nothing that hundreds of people who have not said before.
Good luck:) I fell better having gone
As a Catholic I answer this.
I know priests have heard everything. This is also a sin to be confessed. No priest will laugh at you for it. They will not judge you. If you do not use the pleasure masturbate use the word "I" of the phrase in a way that makes you feel comfortable, however, says the priest what you mean. Nobody said it needs to be graphic for this Sacrament. I confess, my priest prays and acquitted me.
Masturbation is natural, healthy and nice, dear. Everyone does, even those who lie about it. Why should discuss his sex life with a priest? This is nonsense. Do you think Christianity makes sense?
Christianity … the belief that some cosmic Jewish zombie will grant him immortality, if "symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil embedded in mans soul, because a woman was deceived in the rib eating a magic apple by a talking snake … it makes perfect sense
When you go to confession, you have to tell the priest, or any valid confession, which in itself is a sin to be confessed. You're just digging a bigger hole if you do not tell the priest. Trust me, the priest has heard much worse. If you can not say the exact words, just say something like "as much as teenagers do when they are alone at night." He'll know what you mean. That's probably the number one sin confessed by adolescents. He hears it all the time.
If you feel the need to confess, but he will not confess to a priest does not.
You can confess directly to God in prayer, that idea that there is a priest to connect God to fool …
I do not need to confess my sins to another human being … is not better than me … I only answer to God.
Yes, because masturbation, a normal and healthy act, practiced by almost everyone who was never called a sin in the book of fairy tale of yours is so bad.
Gee, you fundies cease to amaze.
Baby, you're fine. Masturbation is perfectly normal and healthy: http://teenadvice.about.com/library/week …
Trust me when I say that the priests have heard it all, no need to feel ashamed or guilty.
There is nothing wrong with masturbation. Everyone does. Do not feel guilty about it. FAP whenever you want.
Welcome to a life of thinking sex is shameful and not talk about …
If God did not want to masturbate, do not have arms long enough to reach.
"Sin" is an abstraction.
Poor guy.
Hi,
If you think this is a sin, you can confess directly to God.
I do not want to make light of this so you may want to reconsider the confession to a priest of the Catholic faith, because the number of children abused by them. If the priest is a predator that could be in some trouble. What a Pery in young adults and children!? I never thought of it before now, but this process of confession in the Catholic Church is ripe for this behavior. It's in the press all the time so it is nothing that not everyone knows.
Besides Jesus is the mediate between man and God …. not a priest, or someone who claims to be. Yes, confession is good for the soul, but not in this case. Tell God if you feel the need, but its good to be away from a priest in an old man, for that matter. The CJ had too much abuse there!
I expected a thumbs down respone here due to the fact that masterbation is not mentioned in the Scriptures. And do not comment on the brother who spilled his seed. It was not masterbating, drew so as not to reach his brothers pregenant wife. Old habits do not fit into the new covenant. Besides, who told you it was a sin to begin with? You do not go blind or grow hair on the palms well, so do not approach too disjointed for doing this. Most priest have done and are doing …. I just read the local news, as do a lot worse, and there are plenty of broken lives to prove it. Sorry, but I call them as I see …. the shame of the Catholic Church and its protection of child molesters.
This is what the Bible, the Word of God says about your question:
1 John 1:8-10 (New International Version)
8SI claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
1 John 2
1My dear children, I write this not to sin. But if anyone sins, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ the righteous. 2HE is the propitiation for our sins, not only for ours but also for [a] the sins of the world.
It seems that I am quoting from two different chapters in the former, but chapter and verse designations are not inspired, and what I quoted above is a real straight thinking.
This means that you repent to God only in private.
This is not the word of Pastor Art on this subject, this is the Word of God in him.
Yes, confession is necessary. According to a speech he heard a priest once, you can confess masturbation saying "I was impure with myself." If you still need help, I'd recommend the confession in an older church behind a screen, and prayer to Mary for the grace to make a good confession.
The rosary is explained here: http://www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/prayers/ …

The concept of confession of sins to a priest is nowhere taught in Scripture. First, the New Testament teaches that there are not to be priests in the New Covenant. Instead, the New Testament teaches that all believers are priests. 1 Peter 2:5-9 describes believers as a "holy priesthood" and a "royal priesthood". Revelation 1:6 and 5:10 both describe believers as "a kingdom of priests". In the Old Testament, the faithful had to approach God through priests. The priests were mediators between the people and God. The priests offered sacrifices to God on behalf of the people. That is no longer necessary. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we can now approach the throne of God with boldness (Hebrews 4:16). The veil of the temple torn in two by the death of Jesus was a symbol of the dividing wall between God and humanity being destroyed. We can approach God directly, ourselves, without the use of a human mediator. Why? Because Jesus Christ is our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-15, 10:21), and one mediator between God and us (1 Timothy 2:5). The New Testament teaches that there are to be elders (1 Timothy 3), deacons (1 Timothy 3), bishops (Titus 1:6-9), and pastors (Ephesians 4:11) - but not priests.
When it comes to confession of sin, believers are told in 1 John 1:9 and confess your sins to God. God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins as we confess it. James 5:16 speaks of confessing our sins "to each other," but this is not the same as confessing sins to a priest as the Roman Catholic Church teaches. Priests and church leaders are nowhere mentioned in the context of James 5:16. Also, James 5:16 does not link forgiveness of sins with the confession of sins "to one another."
The Roman Catholic Church bases their practice of confession to a priest, primarily in the Catholic tradition. Catholic brought John 20:23, "If you forgive his sins, they are forgiven, if not forgive, you are not forgiven." From this verse, Catholics claim that God gave the apostles the power to forgive sins, and that the authority was transmitted to the successors of the Apostles, for example, bishops and priests of the Roman Catholic Church. There are several problems with this interpretation. (1) John 20:23 nowhere mentions confession of sin. (2) John 20:23 promises nothing, not even evidence, that the authority to forgive sins is transmitted to the successors of the apostles. Jesus' promise was specifically directed to the apostles. (3) The New Testament says that the apostles even have successors to their apostolic authority. Similarly, Catholics point to Matthew 16:19 and 18:18 (binding and loosing) as evidence of the authority of the Catholic Church to forgive sins. The same three points above apply equally to these Scriptures.
Again, the concept of confession of sins to a priest is nowhere taught in Scripture. We must confess our sins to God (1 John 1:9). As believers of the New Covenant, we do not need mediators between God and us. We can go to God directly because of Jesus' sacrifice for us. 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus."
