Catholics: a question?

I just read an answer to a question in which a Catholic said: "Jesus said the way to him is through his Mother Mary." Can you tell me where in the Bible that said that? Or from anyone to believe in sacred tradition in the first century he said?
This is not an attack. I just want to know where you this.

    Edge,
I was also surprised by the response. There are a lot of endurance tests on the mothers blessed contribution to salvation, but the way he / she reads the answer is wrong. We can come to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin, but it's certainly not the only or even the preferred way. We are called to love one another through prayer that is what the Mother of God does for us, but we can pray to God. The prayers of the saints are only complements our prayers directly to God. Ask the saints, pray for us, is an optional practice for Catholics. Honoring the saints are not. God bless!

Not in the Bible. Who says it may have been talking about the sacred tradition that Catholics see themselves as equal in power of revelation, as the Bible.
At the foot of the cross in the Gospel of John, Jesus told Mary, "This [John] is his son." And He said to John, "this [Mary] is your mother."
The church interprets that to mean that Jesus was Mary, the spiritual mother of all Christians. Maybe that's what the poster was talking about.

I do not know if this is a biblical statement or not. I would say that makes sense. If I were alone, my mother and my father would be the center of my life. Being the incarnation of God, his love for his mother, would exceed anything we can imagine. In her honor, one could say that the way for me is through my mother. It is understandable to me.

  4. Scottie says:

What is said does not represent Catholic Catholic religion or its' teachings. I'm Catholic and I can assure you that is not taught in our religion that is the way of Jesus through Mother Mary. Someone has been misinformed or someone is pulling your leg.

We got this from Jesus.I don `t where in the Bible, but not being Catholic means matter.Part stop asking where is that? and just start taking the words Saviors of it.That is Jesus.Something believe only a true Catholic can do.

  6. Helloooo says:

    Not in the Bible.
The Bible says that Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh to the Father except through me (Jesus). In the book of John.
The other is not in the Bible and makes no sense. Why be the way to Jesus through a human woman, not unlike what he did or I???? Think about it …

  7. Midge says:

This refers to the wedding at Cana, when Mary interceded for story the young couple without wine enough. Now, do not say that "refers to" not enough when all love to pick on the "rapture" that vow to be "referred" to the right, but not outside.
Edge: Do you know what we think or are you just using this as a platform to preach?
you know what - I know how to reach a Fundamentalist Church if he would listen to such heretical garbage

  8. jim C says:

He is not there in the Bible, this is a Catholic tradition,
and the soldier of Christ, if Jesus had said, would be in the Bible

  9. Artorius says:

It says nothing about that in the New Testament.

  10. Lion of Judah Regular says:

Soldier of Christ is clearly a Catholic novice. lol
Because Jesus never said that the way to him is through his mother. The way to him, is through Him with the Holy Spirit. lol

when not in the Bible, I think they were wrong sadley

"Honor thy father and thy mother"

Edge Hi, good to see you again.
I have no idea that particular response - "Jesus said the way to him is through his mother Mary" "- comes from. Certainly not in Scripture. Just at this particular moment, I'm thinking it's a well-intentioned but clumsy articulation is a broader teaching of the Church (which certainly does not put those words into the mouth of Salvador) or essence of a private revelation, but even for one of which is "credible" by the Church can not contradict revealed truth.
My feeling is that this person did not really understand something you have heard or was taught, and thus was left. I can not help but think that this has happened to you, too.
Edit: Hmm, I do not troll (based on a quick look through previous answers), but quite possibly immaturity. Hopefully FR. Joseph has had a word.

  17. Ed H says:

I do not think I would say that. However, note that some saints with Mary as a wedding "at Cana," he tells everyone to "do what he tells you." And through its Yes to accept Jesus into your heart, it reversed the "No" of Eve. So Jesus is the new Adam and Mary the New Eve. Therefore, Luke talks about how we have received Jesus through Mary. The most famous professor of theology and devotion is "St. Louis de Montfort". You can also look encyclycal John Paul II "Mother of the Redeemer" for more information about why a Catholic can say what you heard. Therefore, Mary is not considered the only way to get to Jesus, and you can pray directly to him. No means. Devotion to Mary, so it is not required by a Catholic.
Indeed, a Catholic does not believe that everything is in the Bible.

  18. Annie says:

Are you sure you are Catholic? I grew up and am a practicing Catholic, and not remember hearing that. First, if the person is Catholic, you should not be reading the Bible. Catholics are not allowed, unless translated by the pope or priest. The Bible can be interpreted in many different ways.
