Catholics and Protestants agree on this at least?
From what I could find, Catholics and Protestants, both discredit Dan Brown's book "The Da Vinci Code."
I have not read the book, so you know, so please give me as many details as possible about why the book goes against their doctrine of the Catholic or Protestant church.
FURTHER thing the Jesus and Mary never married ", I mean. This is really the only premise of the book that I have heard cited as an example of why the book is so flawed.
Surely there must be other reasons??? Other doctrines that the book goes against according to the Catholic and Protestant?
- Catholics and Protestants, Did you know that Martin Luther's Deep devotion to the Virgin Mary?
- I am thinking of switching to Protestants of Catholics?
- Christians (Catholics and Protestants), please help me with this Bible question?
- Why do many Christians dislike or even hate Protestants Catholics and the Catholic Church?
- What is the difference between Catholics and Protestants?

It is important to remember that The Da Vinci Code (The DaVinci Code) is pure fiction. Much as author Dan Brown wants us to believe, The Da Vinci Code has no solid base, historically, the Bible, or theologically. The Da Vinci Code is essentially an attempt to "humanize" Jesus inventing a story of how his identity was distorted by almost two thousand years. In The Da Vinci Code, Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children. Mary Magdalene and Jesus were the descendants of the "holy grail" that carries the blood of Christ. The Da Vinci Code says that these facts about Jesus Christ were covered by the early church in order to protect the idea of the divinity of Jesus. All Christian books that talked about the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene were destroyed. Any evidence of that relationship was covered.
Once again, The Da Vinci Code is fiction. It has no basis in reality. It is a well written, entertaining book - but that's all. Dan Brown, author, is persuaded that these ideas about Jesus are true. Since no historical, biblical or theological basis for their beliefs, Dan Brown presents a fictional story. Jesus married Mary Magdalene or any other person. Jesus had no children. Yes, the early church tried to destroy many "gospels" of Jesus, but did so because they were almost universally recognized as heretical, not hiding. Even these "gospels" only hint at a relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The church does not hide the truth about Jesus married Mary Magdalene. Rather, the church protected the truth about Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:1,14).
The Da Vinci Code is actually an attack on the person of Jesus Christ. People do not want to believe that Jesus is God, that Jesus is the Savior - so make false beliefs about Him in order to create a false Jesus who can believe in That's what The Da Vinci Code is all about - the filing a false view that Jesus Christ was truly … and then explain why this "truth" has been "hidden" for almost 2000 years.

In my mind
The Spirit bears witness to the things of God
If my mind says no then it is
Also have not read the book, but my wife. He read it, because I knew that many people where I worked was reading, and she wanted to be able to defend the faith against the claims of people would do based on that book.
One of their main complaints was that the book was terribly written. She is not alone in this opinion. Most comments and discussions I found myself reached the same conclusion. Generally, these were people who had no bias toward or against the book on religious grounds - it was a trial on her like a novel.
Nor is it historically viable. And most of their "facts" were stolen wholesale from the works of others (who sued him). And those works that "borrowed" from been ridiculed by almost everyone as well.
So not only Catholics and Protestants agree, but so do historians, literary critics and serious readers. I guess some comments I heard when I was all the buzz, it was legible to a degree if he did not care too much about the allegations made and if does not pay much attention to the quality of writing.
I think the only people actually book appeals to people who have a grudge against Christianity in general (or the Catholic Church in particular) and people who love any story about huge conspiracies.

The Da Vinci Code is full of lies and half truths about Christianity, the Catholic Church, and even Leonardo Da Vinci.

With love in Christ.
Every theological statement in the book is false.
Every statement about the Bible and which books should be in the Bible is wrong.
For example, there was no vote in the Council of Nicaea to decide what books belonged to the Bible and do not belong in the Bible.
Church leaders knew that books would be included in the year 200 the Bible before the Council at Nicea was called.
There was a vote to accept the Nicene Creed, which clarifies the teaching that Jesus is God. That vote was a thing as 316 to 2.
Dan Brown clams held a vote on books to include and whether Jesus was God, and affirms that the vote was close.
Close by from 316 to 2 NO.

It was a novel! It aims to be a novel. It would not be denied. It was a novel. . . fiction. Not intended to be true.
Why people miss that?
