Catholics: What Do You Think Of Protestant Catholic masses called "weird"?
Many of my friends are Protestant (Baptist, Christian Reformed, not Denom, etc.) Anyway, I was talking to my friend and asked her name. She explained how it will go to any Christian church, but not Catholic. He explained how it was a group of friends of the Catholic church and I thought the mass was strange. He spoke of the fellowship of alien and the songs they sang as foreign.
Why do you think Catholics are rare when they were the first Christians? They invented religion. I was a little offended.
What are your thoughts?
- I am neither Catholic nor Protestant .. But I have a curiosity ..?
- Catholics - How many Masses on average it takes to get someone out of purgatory?
- Is it appropriate for our Catholic au pair to come with us to Good Friday and Easter Masses?
- Catholic / Protestant?
- If you are a Protestant What do you think of the Catholics, if you're a Catholic What do you think of the Protestants

Catholics generally do not really need to understand what mass is.
A Mass is very basic, very quiet and completely directed to God / Jesus.
The Mass is not intended to be entertaining, away from the latter of the Mass is never the intention of giving us anything (apart from the grace of our Lord).
As Catholics, when we attend Mass is our way to join Jesus at the Last Supper.
Remember, when Jesus said "Do this in remembrance of me".
This is the oldest written account of the institution of the Lord's Supper in the New Testament.
The narrative emphasizes Jesus' action of self-giving (expressed in words over the bread and the cup) and dual controls to repeat his own actions.
1 Corinthians 11:23, 24
On the 1 of the formal church we just have to study history.
Take time to review the church fathers.
In addition, look how long your current church has been around and why they started with the one who started it.
Once away all the lies that have taught you will discover that Catholicism was the official religion early Christian belief based on God / Jesus.
Clearly we can read this in Acts 11:26, until the 16th century until the middle of the only Christian religion was Catholicism, which began 50 days after Pentecost.
A great story of hope: http://www.catholiceducation.org/article …
This is a beautiful story about the conversion of Dr. Scott Hahn.
This is a very well educated man that everything he did not like the Catholic church until he began to really learn the truth!
I also admire Dr. Billy Graham, many of his books point directly toward the Catholic Church for clarity.
The two authors are superb writers!
Finally, take the time to forgive his friends, who simply do not have the grace to understand, pray for them.
God bless you "
I was Methodist grow (not baptized because my father was against it for longer), and went to church with my best friend to see what all the hype was. I fell in love with the Catholic Mass, it is very beautiful and very biblical. It was different, but it was not unusual. She felt like a complete Christian experience. So when I went to college, I was baptized and confirmed as a Catholic.
What was strange I was going to FCA in college and see people mourn and applaud domain. For me it was a horrible experience. I was shocked by it, because faith is a quiet, personal thing for me, and the actions that appear just as for me, so it came back.
Moreover, faith without works is dead. (James 2:26)
I am a Catholic nun and the masses are rare, especially for someone new.
There's plenty of tradition and the only ones who think they are rare are those who have been there forever.
No Christian church adequately represents Jesus, God, the Bible, etc. Of course, some Catholics are biased toward their own way just as others are for his Church.
God does not judge on the basis of the Church, but his heart. I feel too churches including the Catholic Church are quick to judge others. We leave the judging to God and only our hardest to be the best person we can be.
One thing I can say with certainty about the Catholic religion - Once you get past the foreign service and other odd things that have gone - there are some very dedicated and helpful Priest, nuns, brothers and sisters in the order, give life for this vocation - may be some wonderful people to talk to in difficult times.
Your friend (s) does not understand the Catholic Mass, simply because she is not Catholic. It's that simple.
As a non-Catholic Anything that has to say about the Catholic Church is based on an impulse moved by this time of possession of real knowledge of the practices and beliefs of the church - so no matter what he says. She knows what she is talking.
The worship and liturgy is not in your vocabulary and have no idea because they know the history of the Bible as they should. They gather in community to hear a man who has his own personal views of Scripture and the doctrine that it is an open list. No order whatsoever and wonder why they have this 30,000, ss. I apologize to my sister and brothers who have been baptized Christians because there are many who love the Word of God with sincerity, but not exposed to the fullness of faith
I've heard the same kinds of comments from my friends for years. It bothers me more. Most comments are made out of
ignorance. Some peoples' views are formed before there was ever a Catholic mass, because of the things I have heard of growth. And some people are so narrow minded that they believe their way is the only right way. What we usually tell these people that I truly believe that one of the greatest sins is to judge others and should consider that before making such comments. (Especially because I think he just can not go to confession and forgiveness Lol.)
>> Catholics: What do you think of the Protestant Catholic masses call "Weird"? <<
I understand the matter. Since I am a convert, I know how Catholicism is seen from the outside, and it can seem very strange to those of Protestant background.
Catholics were not the first Christians. In the early years of Christianity there was no such distinction, and certainly nothing that is recognized as a Catholic. Catholicism began in 1054 with the great schism.
However, Catholic services could be something unusual for others.
I agree that should not be offended by Catholicism. Protestants have almost all Catholic dogmas, of Trinidad to the hypostatic Union. The Reformation was a land grab by the IMO. BTW I'm not Catholic, I am a Gnostic.
Catholic masses are great aerobic exercises, standing, sitting, standing. really something else seems strange. Most people feel more comfortable in the church services that were raised in ..
Well, it might seem odd to her because the Catholic masses differ from the Protestant masses.
But then again, a Catholic, Protestant masses can find rare ..
Since the mass is essentially the liturgy that Jesus gave us at the Last Supper, what to say about the different Protestant faith traditions?
I believe Jesus and electric guitars do not mix. I do not think it never will.
ALL are rare. But Catholics have rituals fun, I admit. (no offense).
Subject
<edit> lol @ the ignorance of the fundies
Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me …
We should not judge people on religion you choose …
Even more fun …
Like all …
No wonder that each state in a rock concert
Well, are rare.
Imagine that you are experiencing a Protestant Catholic Mass for the first time.
1) the songs are completely unknown - even though many other sects sing songs in the same church as yours does
2) People are still making sudden movements apparently unpredicatable
a) kneel (unheard of!)
b) that are
c) feel
d) that are
e) kneel
you get the idea. The BOBs entire congregation up and down - simultaneously - without notice.
3) Similarly, the congregation, when not singing, is totally silent - until, suddenly and often without warning, burst simultaneously in a sentence you've never heard before creed (Apostle, Roman Catholic version of the Prayer Lord, etc)
4) They read the Bible * much * more than other churches
5) Often, the preacher preaches about something really is not even mentioned in the reading of the Bible. All other churches has been, the preacher reads only the parts of the Bible that the issue of concern is preaching, and is performed during the preaching.
6) There are all idols (statues). What is * that * this?
7) With regard to communion - why not pass it around like all the other churches have you been? And why they are doing * today *? Most churches do once a month or less. And why the bells ring? Does this kind seems to be Jesus, repeating the same words spoken by Jesus at the Last Supper? Everyone lines (odd - not even an altar call) and have that thing rare occasion to use both hands to take the bread, like the capture of water or something ….
My point is: compared to most of the Protestant sects - and there are many * and * * * Many of the Protestant sects - Roman Catholic religious services are * very * different. Most Protestant religious services tend to be similar in many respects. Some use older music (organ music) - but it's still usually not the same songs that are used by Roman Catholics. Many modern Christian music used. Many choirs, most do not, but many also play electronic music (CD) by the speaker! Many bands! There are basically 4 types of church music
a) Protestant organ music (traditional Christian music of America)
b) Protestant modern music (traditional songs with modern instruments)
c) Christian rock
d) Catholic (usually predates the Christian music of America)
Each of the first 3 are found in many different Protestant churches. Find d) probably only Catholic, Lutheran and Episcopal, occasional individual with a song like "Holy, Holy, Holy" or Christmas music in other churches.
Once again, there are literally hundreds of Protestant sects, and all their services are quite similar - and quite different from Roman Catholics, Lutherans and Episcopalians.

Catholics were not the "first Christians".
Read the book of Acts in the Bible. That is the first Christians.
Catholicism did not exist 300 years later, and no amount of repeating something you have said, is never going to change that.
Catholicism is not Christian. Catholicism teaches a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1:6-9).
Because you can not add works to salvation. If you add your work to Jesus, then it is safe.
The Catholic faith = + work = no salvation and eternal torment in hell
Christian = only faith in Jesus = salvation and eternity in heaven with Jesus
Jesus loves you and wants to be saved. Believing in Jesus for salvation without adding your works (John 3:16).
The Catholics are not Christians.
