Christians are taking over from What Catholics in the past?

killing millions, I mean. People are saying that Catholics are Christians, and is totally false, Catholic is in a totally different category of religion, why are we being blamed for what they did?
I bow to the Pope or acknowlegde him as someone special. I do not pray to Mary or the saints.
Didn't we (Christians) to flee the tyranny in the new world and others?
  Why are we being blamed?
  Just curious.

  1. disciple says:

    What is a Christian?
A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. A Christian church is not physical, he or she is a member of the Body of Christ.
Jesus warned us about physics and the Church Council, which is believed, Jesus or the Church of Physics, Jesus or the Council.
Do not take my word for it, read the Word of God for your car. 1 Chronicles 17:3 —- —- WORD OF GOD "Go tell my servant David, Thus saith the Lord, I —- You do not build a house to live in"

  2. RabidBun says:

I do not really care what happened during the Middle Ages, I do not like what Christians are doing now.

  3. NONAME says:

    Catholics are Christians.
And nobody is to blame for what Catholics Protestants did.
Protestants murdered enough Native Americans and Africans to make their own name in history.

  4. SpiritRo says:

Bullsh **. Catholics are Christians as much as any other sect.
Of course, people like you who play the saint-to-you card all the time … you give a bad name, duh! You do not need anybody to do it for you.
Always cut to the other and acting like your sh ** do not stink.
He is so far from being a Christian.

  5. HAND says:

What I find worrying is that people are blaming Jesus for the failures of humanity.

  6. klute200 says:

It does not seem much of a Christian to me. You sound like spiteful, wrong girl.

  7. jesus_is says:

People are saying that Catholics are Christians, and is totally false,
dont lie to cover their tracks, if Protestantism Catholic Christians arent they come from? Jesus had not yet do so and that has not fall from the sky. History shows Catholics are Christians, despite what some Christians say lying twit. I guess Hitler was an atheist, eh? thats the last lie of the Christians. Not a true Christian is not just a cop out, their LIE.
Why blame? While on the one hand, Protestants do bad things, so even if separate / deny Catholics like yours, theres still the question of witchtrials, killing Native Americans, Africans, etc.

  8. Dharma Nature says:

From where I sit, there is little difference between Catholicism and Christianity, after all is the same deity and more to the point that is morality.
Also from my point of view that did not flee to the New World to escape the tyranny - which brought with it. The American Indians would not agree with you too.
As for why Christianity is being blamed … Catholicism has 'cleansed' recently, leaving Christianity holding the proverbial hot potato.

  9. Lukusmca says:

No, they are getting the worst of what was done in the past. (Outside of "his" people said, 'if you do not want to share in the plagues that are coming to "your"). Sexually abusing children, discrimination against women, etc, etc

  10. jinengli says:

    Catholics were the first Christians.
      We're still Christians.
The Roman Catholic Church has done some terrible things in recent years, I will not deny.
As a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior who is a Christian.

  11. gildamcg says:

Christians are being blamed because they refuse to acknowledge what they did in the past.
The church refuses to take responsibility or apologize.

    Fleeing the tyranny + +
Most people fleeing the tyranny of the colonies to reach beyond the Protestant tyranny in England, including Catholics who started the colony of Maryland.
      + Are Catholics Christians?
Most-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A few do not.
A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone who professes faith in Jesus as Christ or the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
      Catholics fit this definition.
In the Nicene Creed of 325 AD, the Catholics profess:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, only Son of God, born of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered, died and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
And will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will never end.
Accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
Truly, we are spiritually "born again", just not often use those words.

      + Pope +
      John 21:15-17 says:
When they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. He said: "Feed my lambs."
Then he told a second time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" He said, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. He said: "Feed my sheep."
He said the third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was concerned that she had told him a third time, "Do you love me?" And he said " Lord you know everything You know I love you. "(Jesus) said," Feed my sheep.
      Matthew 16:17-19 says:
Jesus said in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this, but my heavenly Father. And I say that you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven ".
The Catholic Church believes the Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the "rock" of his Church. He gave the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the entire herd.
The Pope is the senior pastor of 1.1 billion Catholics, the direct successor of Simon Peter.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s
      + + The Saints
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, Methodist and Church.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When one dies and goes to heaven, do not go to this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my late grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or you can ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
And the prayer of the saints is optional and not required.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s

  14. Brett A says:

I am a devout atheist, but I think I see tons of posts just consider me anti-Catholic … Is this another? Why is that?
(Is not is supposed to be a kind of brotherly love between Xians?)

  15. Kithy says:

The only other "Christian" church that was around in the beginning was the Greek Orthodox Church (the Church of Jerusalem was Jewish). All other Christians denoms split from Catholicism (this is all recorded history). They are Christians … if Protestants recognize them as such or not.
Now, as the Inquisition - Protestants were in the same well. History shows the Protestant churches in England were burning people alive and for being "witches". Catholics were not the only church that had a hand in the massacres that are shown in the story.
Now - people today, regardless of religion, not to be blamed for something that happened long before they were born. Unless you fall into that sort of thing now.
As for "fleeing tyranny," I'm not sure to get that where "pilgrims" were established in the new world … kept all religious convictions and is used here as well (Salem Witch Trial, sound? and the witch trials of Salem were the first to happen in America … It is only known for beyond PPL who died in Pennsylvania, where a handful were hanged for alleged witchcraft).

  16. Gods child says:

the truth that you went to live in their own right?
Now, people can point out that Christians have sometimes resorted to violence without reason, including the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition. But the comparison is not completely accurate. First, Christ himself never advocated forced conversion and slaughter of unbelievers. Muhammad not only advocated it, but personally contributed to it. Second, in the case of the Crusades we must be careful not to buy the entire anti-Catholic propaganda that is sold. Do you know why the Christians fought the Crusades? Because Muslims first took over Christian lands force and persecuted the Christians who live there, and controlled the Christian holy places. It is true that some of the crusaders did despicable things in a spiteful, vindictive. But the Church itself never tolerated, much less orderly, these excesses. As for the Inquisition, if it was as bad as some anti-Catholics say it is strange that there are records of people seeking to transfer their cases to the Inquisition of the Spanish civil courts. No doubt some of the horrible things happened, but it is more accurately understood as the unfortunate result of the weaknesses and sins of individuals, not the official teaching of the Church.

  17. Eleventy says:

for the first 1000 years, Christians and Catholics were synonymous …

  18. Shitestirrer extrordinaire says:

Stop the nonsense. Never was religion that was the promoter of the Puritans, was the fact he had just killed chaired an English monarch and the establishment of a Republic-and the elites of the United Kingdom were very concerned about it happening again, so that dismissed.
Then there was the question of loyalty, "the opinion of English Protestants of the Crown as head of the Church and State as divinely ordained by God, while Catholics see the pope as Christ's representative on earth-what see the Pope who has more authority than the king.
Fact is that many Catholics still living in the UK and even noble families as the estranged husband of Camilla.

  19. PaulCyp says:

The fact that follow Luther's new ideas rather than the teaching of the true Church of Jesus Christ founded for you, and the fact that they have rejected many of the beliefs of orthodox Christianity is not really anything to brag about. You're trapped in a tradition of man-made conflicts, the conflicting terminology, the very existence of which is a direct violation of the declared will of God, "they all be one." Anyone with a minimum of historical knowledge knows that the Catholic Church was the only Christian church on earth for most of Christian history. Before criticizing the Protestants of the teachings of the Church of Christ, they must agree with what constitutes truth within their own tradition, where no two denominations to teach the same thing and doctrinal chaos reigns - the direct result to reject the authority of the Church of Christ and trying foirce authority in a book compiled by the true Church. Christ Church still teaches and worships in unity and truth after 2,000 years, and will until the end of time.

  21. Yogini says:

I would not say that Catholics are not Christians. He founded the Church which separated from the Protestants. The reason for the atrocities that are placed Catholics during the Crusades (I think that's what you mean) is because the Church had not yet divided. I do not hold any Modern Day Christian responsible for what happened in the past. However, religion is a major source of violence around the world, or at least is an important factor in some conflicts. The blood must be shed by the conflicts. Look at this board and you have a question and answer his own question. And hand over done a very good point.

  22. TLG says:

    Sorry to burst the bubble.
You can not change the definition of Christianity to suit their feelings.
= A Christianity that follows the word of Christ therefore Christianity.
      Catholics follow Christ.
Again, sorry the news to you. The hope in Christ can help you cope.

  23. Lena Rose says:

Oh, yes. I am so happy that Christians came to America and killed and eradicate the culture and people of Native Americans. Now, Native Americans are reduced to living on small plots of land given to them by the government.
Yes, it's fantastic that Native American Christians forced to leave their culture to become Christian. I am sure that many Native Americans today are very grateful to the Christians.
Now, let's look at Black people. The cruelty and brutality of the treatment of Black people made by Christians is horrible.
Is not it a bit odd that the same men who raped, killed and tortured people Black returned to his huge plantation house and read the Bible?
Is not it a bit strange that men called the Native Americans savages and killed them and went home to read the Bible?
So, you see. Christians have no past either for peaceful purposes. Christians do not kill millions of people. Were the Native Americans and Africans.
