Did Jesus really have siblings?
I was talking about this with a friend over lunch the other day. We were talking about the DaVinci Code. Both are of the view that the Catholic Church has, for thousands of years, came out of his way to hide the true information about Jesus, since the Council of Nicaea which decided to omit certain Gospels (ie Mary Magdalene). Speaking of the possibility that Jesus had children with Mary Magdalene and my friend took us to talk about his brothers. Mary did give birth to more than one child? If so, is there any information out there on the brothers of Jesus?
- The Virgin Mary has Jesus have brothers? I would love to answer many religious Please.

- How can Catholics and José María Marriage?

Yes ….
Mark 6:3 says, "This is the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, right? And his sisters are here with us, right? "So they began to stumble on it."
The book is fiction and what he says. Dan Brown is a careless writer who stole the premise of Holy Blood, Holy Grail. Not a single thread of evidence to support his hypothesis. Theological, cultural, historical, makes no sense.

Back to the story. Jesus had a brother named James and other brothers who are not mentioned. He had a short ministry, and no time to marry.

There is nothing that says no, and there is nothing saying they have no children of her own with Mary Magdalene. It is strange that notion in Christianity that Jesus never even thought of sex. However, I still thought he was fully human. Hm .. suggests.
My personal opinion is that Jesus had brothers and sisters, and that has everything that could have been married to Mary Magdalene. Why not? Jesus was a normal Jew of his time and place.
There is a point in one of the Gospels, where Jesus is quoted as saying something along the lines of "go and tell my mother and my brothers … bla bla bla "(Yes, I have the Carpenter yadda yadda. crucify me.)
Anyway, people say it is a reference to * real * brothers. The remained of the Mary the Virgin camp say they are Josephs children from a previous marriage. Riiiiight.
Well, when Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she was a virgin. Scripture tells us that she had other children. If she had a husband who had other children that no longer a virgin. What matter the weather Jesus slept with Mary M. If he did not sin. If he did this woman was his wife and was the only woman to deal with. After her sins were forgiven by Jesus himself was no longer a prostitute. I do not know if Jesus had married a woman, if he did, was irrelevant because it is not in the Bible, and again if he did, yet was without sin.
The Bible tells us that Jesus had four brothers: James, Joses, Simon and Jude
Matthew 13:55 (NIV)
55 "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not the name of his mother Mary, and are not his brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas?
The Bible also tells us that Jesus had sisters, but not the name or number
Matthew 13:56 (NIV)
56 Are not all his sisters with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? "
Matthew 12:46 (NIV)
46 While Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to talk to him.
Acts 1:14 (NIV)
14 All they united in prayer constantly, along with women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
Yes, Jesus had half brothers and sisters. And for future reference, the Catholic Church has not existed for thousands of years, and the Da Vinci Code is a fiction based on the work out of another fiction book Holy Blood, Holy Grail.
According to mythology contained in the sacred book of the Christian faith group / religion, yes, James and Thomas being the best known.
Try to investigate the desposyni also, you may find it very interesting … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desposyni
Joseph, James and John were Jesus' biological brothers, but Jesus only called on their brothers and / or family members who were in the mission he does the will of our Father in Heaven ……. That is why we should not let any family member shall separate us from the love of God and do God's will and, when we love God in total capacity, we understand this concept ….
A better question is "Did Jesus really exist?"
The answer is: "Probably not".
Jesus is the Son of God and Mary is his mother earth. Joseph was his stepfather. Joseph and Mary had other children, James is one of them, so that Jesus had brothers and a half.
Yes, I believe that Jesus had brothers, was named one of Jacob or something. I do not remember much, but rarely mentioned in the New Testament. I doubt however that there were children.
Yes, it clearly says in the book of the names of his 4 brothers Matthew. It name.It then said he had "sisters". Therefore, Mary had @ least 7 biological children.
Yes James being better known.
Not to mention, there are some lines related to their sisters.
Jesus had no children but had siblings.
Was Mary ever virgin?
Matthew 13:53-56, JB: "When Jesus had finished these parables he left the district, and have come to his hometown, he taught the people in the synagogue so that they were amazed and said, 'Where man this wisdom and these miraculous powers? This is the carpenter's son, right? Is not his mother, a woman called Mary, and his brothers [Greek, a ‧ ‧ of Phôi '] James, Joses, Simon and Judas? His sisters [Greek, a ‧ ‧ of Phai '], too, are they not here with us? "(On the basis of this text, one can conclude that Jesus was the only son of Mary or that she had other sons and daughters?)
The New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967, vol. IX, p. 337) admits on the words of the Greek a Phôi and ‧ ‧ ‧ ‧ of Phai "used in Matthew 13:55, 56 that these" have the meaning of full blood brother and sister in the Greek-speaking world and naturally Evangelista time would be taken by the Greek reader in this regard. Towards the end of the 4th century (c. 380) in a lost job Helvidius press attributed this fact to the children other Mary, besides Jesus to make her a role model for mothers of large families. St. Jerome, motivated by the traditional faith of the Church in the perpetual virginity of Mary, wrote a treatise against Helvidius (AD 383) where he developed an explanation … which is still in vogue among Catholic scholars.
Mark 3:31-35, JB: "Your mother and brothers have arrived and, from outside, sent a message asking for him. A crowd was sitting around him at the time the message was passed to him, 'Your mother and brothers and sisters are outside asking for you. He replied: "Who are my mother and my brothers?" And looking around at those who sit in a circle around him, said: "Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother. "(Here a clear distinction between natural brothers of Jesus and his spiritual brothers, his disciples. No one pretends that the reference to the mother of Jesus means something different from what he says. Is it consistent, then, to reason that his brothers were not natural but were perhaps cousins? When you mean it is not brothers, but family, a different Greek word [‧ ‧ syg not ge '] is used as in Luke 21:16.)
Who do you thin James? The brothers of Jesus are some of Dan Brown rubbish as the name of Leonardo DaVinci being.
Yes, Mary and Joseph had more children after the birth of Jesus. Matthew 12 and 13, Mark 8, Luke 3
Yes, he speaks in the Bible. James is one of them
Yeea, but who cares about Jesus …
