No. No matter who says it. Does it bother you, and most popular religoious are vehemently against the Big Bang?

  2. robthema… says:

No, does not bother me at all. I am small and mean, fortunately.

  3. Athee de la Lune °Starchild° says:

Not really, considering that not subscribe to the Big Bang, and do not have nearly all cosmologists for decades. Everything is inflationary universe theory today, the baby.

No more than that Newton was a Christian.

Why would it be? Darwin's father was a minister. Big deal.

  10. Paul B says:

Not at all, truth is truth, no matter what happens in it. Have you read Newton's spiritual beliefs? That would be a Christian cringe.

  11. OPM says:

No, it was common in those days of the church to jump on the bang wagon inorder to control and turn things.

This was the inheritance. I think most Christians annoy me.

  13. October says:

No, why? Many scientific theories are taught primarily by religious intelligent people. The church had a problem with it, not us.

  14. Psyched Gabby says:

    Why?
The "original" Pledge of Allegiance was originally written by a Baptist minister, without the words "under God."

No, not really. We are quite open about these things. Are Christians who do not have an open mind.

  17. aznpride says:

It seems a bit strange that intelligent people (scientists) can have these beliefs, but that's okay. Why would it be?
You need to be educated on the term "theory". I have no desire to.
It is true … Many people (religions, * ahem *) do not accept that many things are unknown. You know what a cosmologist become a cosmologist? Do not know.
Do not confuse fact with a theory with a hypothesis.

  18. it-guy says:

Most atheists are reasonable people who are not against religion or God, you just decide it's not for them.
Besides, science does not matter what religion you follow or not follow, the science is only concerned with the truth.

  19. Daisy Indigo says:

Not really, and found evidence of this. Find a radio telescope.

I'm agnostic, a former Catholic. I do not mind, why would it be? I am proud that a Catholic priest who founded the theory. The position of the Church today is to believe in the Big Bang and evolution is not contrary to being a Christian. So this should not bother the Christians or atheists. This shows that human curiosity is innate in people and that there is nothing wrong with looking for answers.

  22. cynical says:

In science, theories are judged on merit, not according to the source.

  23. Dreamstuff Entity says:

    Big Bang?
Since when does a priest know anything about a coup?

  30. IWALKFUN says:

Nope. I'm not bothered in the least.
I could actually give credence to the idea of the Big Bang to Empedocles who had the right basic idea, but he lived before he could know about elements and atoms and all. Georges Lemaitre updated his idea with new evidence.
      EDIT:
The Big Bang is a theory that was never proven? "Do you realize that gravity and mathematics are also theories? A "theory" is not the same as a "hypothesis". In science, most testing needs to support a hypothesis before it is considered a theory. People not only come up with ideas that are missing a screw and the label "theories" in the scientific community for fun.
The theory of evolution has more evidence to support the theory that almost all about our universe, but I'm sure you believe in a black hole. People who say that evolution has no evidence that they never really sought.

Not at all why? There are many brilliant scientists who are theists … from the top of my head: Ken Miller
