Folk Catholicism does not mean anything to you?
Filipinos have a unique sense of Catholicism, which merges with the ancient tradition that dates from pre-colonial times. Catholicism in the Philippines is known as popular Catholicism. An example of this can be seen in Filipino households, a devout Catholic who still believes in superstition in home design: gold, silver, Amata for stairs, some of feng shui to do, while just put anito ancient sculptures near the statue of Mary. Does this mean anything to you?

The Philippines is an amalgam of the (Malay, Chinese, Indian, etc) and western (Spanish, American) cultural practices. Although not part of the universality of the Church, such practices are respected and sometimes tolerated by the local clergy of the Catholic Church. This unique identity of ours is what makes us Filipinos.
Dooky rat does not mean me.

i was born and baptized as a Roman Catholic. However, do not practice that religion. Many religions have too many flaws. Of course, feng shui is out of Catholicism. It is a kind of Chinese belief.
This just shows what our culture is unique. some of the pieces are not Catholic (Anita, etc) we have at home are only for home accents and does not necessarily mean that we pray to them. as feng shui, there are plenty of Filipino Chinese families who practice both Catholism and Chinese culture. I think we only have a colorful past and a diverse culture that affects the way in which we do things today.
