If you've read any history, then you know the Catholic Church has conducted or participated in worse things than this, and never paid for it:
The Crusades. The witch-hunt. The conquest of the Americas.
If nobody is willing to call to account those things, nobody is going to require real accountability for the sexual abuse cover-up, either. Some people leave the church, some politicians make speeches, a few arrests (not enough) will be done and a few men go to jail. But the cathedrals will stand and no bishop ever admit they were wrong.
This is how it is.

As a Catholic "For my part, I can say I have never trusted blindly, nor have I had to. Catholics have faith in the Church, not necessarily priests or bishops.
Our church is guided directly by the Holy Spirit. Because the Church is being executed by humans, which are faulted, it inevitably has problems. The Church is perfect, people are not.
Why is that not all Catholics believe that priests are child molesters? They are not, and anyone who believes he is in a species whose hunting.

The Church is for sinners not just the car.
Priest and sin is human like you and me
Currently, 4% of priests were found involved in sex abuse. 2% in the sexual abuse of children. This figure is lower than other professions, ie education, training, day care workers, etc. ..
Never blindly trust any church elder, ever. However, I do it in high esteem for men who commit their lives to Christ as Christ lived his life. Remember that Jesus was celibate, as St. Paul and many men from the beginning. They were his Judas among them? Of course! Even Jesus chose Judas Iscariot! So the faithful must discern the actions of their elders in the church.
The Catholic Church requires that all priests, bishops, brothers, deacons and lay volunteers must submit to fingerprinting, background check and attend mandatory classes on the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse. I recently attended my second (currently being updated).
However, there is great priest who remained faithful to Christ. Many, many more that are corrupted by the world.
Praised be Jesus Christ. I hope this clarifies the reality of the Roman Catholic Church and the problem highlighted. My five children are very safe.

Jesus said that if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the pit, and search the scriptures for in them ye think they have eternal life, but they are they which testify of me.
Any name of the people must be searching the scriptures individually and if they did they would find that we are warned of false prophets and how to be able to know before they are allowed to do such wicked acts, but it is to awaken the public about a Catholic priest, when the truth is that anyone who has no love for the truth can become the same.Want know how I know? Read the first chapter of Romans.

You assume Catholic confidence is "blind". There is no way of knowing that because you are not a soothsayer.

The Catholic Church is based on fear. Hundreds of years ago, the priests told the people if not believe, then tons of bad things would happen. Priests are afraid that the pagan gods and exploited.
Now, Catholics are taught that the priest is saying. They are taught that God speaks to people through the priests.
