This is not true.
Most Catholics are not smart enough to know that the Catholic Church has supported science for centuries.
A couple of things where the Catholic Church has made the world a better and brighter place are:
+ Relief barbarian invasions of the Middle Ages
+ Rescued Christian and pre-Christian literature
+ Spread knowledge of agricultural and animal husbandry
+ Universities began and protected
+ Sponsored and science and medicine support
+ Added International legal theory
+ Developed and supported by modern economic theory
+ Charity of fantasy as we know it
+ Coded, enlargement and improvement of Western Law
+ Western moral
+ Created just war theory
+ Sponsored and art and architecture of influence
+ Developed the concept of inalienable rights

Not to mention that the Vatican has one of the largest observatories in the world and was a priest who was the Big Bang. I am a non-Catholic and have never said that the Church was against science. Those who say that are downright idiots who know nothing about the history of the church and group all Christians together. The evangelicals are the only anti-science, most Protestants and Catholics in particular are not. The Catholic Church is one of many Christian churches that do not report the evolution and say it is okay to support that theory and still be a Christian.

I support the Christian who first responded to your question Tho, the Catholic Church is full of nonsense … will have changed the sacred calling, he added and deleted things from the Bible, these people are a group of fakes, oh, not to mention the way in which repressed and persecuted women and minorities through all ans special History during the Middle Ages. How can someone who knows the basics about history, just the basics, the observance of the principle of the institution.
I say I prefer science to support a million times, no matter how favored the truth might be, then start to have any sense what ever that the Catholic Church. No woman, no minority, in fact anyone in this world should condone what these people, that Catholic priests. have been doing to the human species.
God is not a bad cold, I absorbed or executioner executioner obsesses over concepts such as punishment and sin, as Catholics believe, God is love!
imacatholic2 know more about history then you and your Catholic misconceptions will never be able to achieve. I could remove any of their ignorant ideas and prejudices in a second if I could actually take the trouble to do so. Do not teach a priest tries to give sermons, and not teach an archaeologist on the History! for example, what is considered a barbarian? You know what the meaning of the word is etymologically where it comes from? What gives the right to call a person who simply has a different belief and culture as a barbarian? What gives you the right to require Western values as being as good? what Western values are you talking about? total lack of a healthy family structure? Is that what you're talking about? I'm Sorry honey, but you are living proof of what he was talking, so ignorant and prejudiced as only a Catholic can be blind!

The misinformation and propaganda? Hitting Catholic?
Bigotry?
Perhaps historical setbacks - as with Galileo (also a Catholic by the way).
You are correct that the Catholic Church is not at all "against science", at least not in modern times, and that many great scientists have been Catholics. You left Gregor Mendel (monk) who founded the study of genetics. Of course, there have been many others.

Pure ignorance.
The Catholic Church is a Christian religion, which only recognizes that science can coexist with theism. The Church (unlike most Protestant sects) is very open to logic and scientific achievement, and encourages the pursuit of knowledge, both scientifically and spiritually.

Catholics founded many of the great universities in the world. They teach medicine, bio-sciences, astrophysics, to name a few disciplines. Not faith healing, creationism and talk about existence. I am not Catholic, but I have a good education.

It is a kind of resentment against putting Galileo to death and reject the theory of Corpernicus and condemning him. I am a creationist so that's my theory. Oh and PS creationists believe in Micro-Evolution. Not that the macro-evolution crud.
