I heard a Catholic sermon The Other Day [unfortunately]?

The priest said we should love everyone unconditionally. Let each and every one can and should be loved. That we must love everyone and can love anyone.
Uhh, this is not hypocritical for the anti-gay stance of the traditional Catholic Church?
I realize that probably means love, like 'love thy neighbor ", but surely this is just another example of this hypocrisy in the church. Please discuss (=

I think we "love" to leave their sin to practice.
For the link below - I would like this to anyone?

  2. Cornelius T says:

The Catholic Church believes that homosexuality is unnatural, and that is an abomination to God. No church many preach that homosexuals themselves are bad, but the act of homosexuality is an "abomination." I'd say if this particular church is telling people that homosexuals are evil and should be hated, then I suggest you stay away from that specific church. I would never put a Christian with a wolf in sheep's clothing, and I never wear the same label Muslims as you would with the terrorists. Yes, if the church says that homosexuals are evil and should be hated, then I agree with you. However, if they are just saying that homosexuality is wrong, that's just stating his opinion, there is nothing wrong with that.

  3. Aleria says:

    No, we love everyone unconditionally.
But love does not mean acceptance. If you love your children then punished when they have done wrong, is when you do not love their children that allows them to do whatever they want.
We love everyone unconditionally and that includes homosexuals, but that does not mean in any way that we accept their lifestyle. That is not love.
Many people today equate acceptance with love, but true love is to want that person to go to heaven, even if that means being tough with them.
The love of God is divine and yet, and punished the Israelites for their sins.
Love is acceptance, love is truly caring and the welfare of a soul.

  4. imacatho says:

    No.
The truth is that most people do not understand the Catholic Church teaching on homosexuality.
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes that there is nothing sinful about being gay. But like all unmarried homosexual persons are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. "
Here is the text of the document on the pastoral care of homosexual persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2357-2359: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3s
      With love in Christ.

    Anti-gay stance?

  6. Dikhr says:

Let me explain, if anyone u love u a lot so I do not want this person to be sent to the fire of hell and suffering is not it?
If U See ur kid smoking for example, u dont want to be addicted and sick because of this custom, so out of love u will try to help him, and allowing you to smoke is not the way forward, obviously
So yes gay love, but despise what they do and prevent them from doing so because they are hurting themselves in this life and the next.
That's love, to help each other to reach the heavens! God willing

It's one of those things that everyone knows but never mentions.
Like the elephant sitting in the living room, and nobody says anything.
It's a big steaming pile of hypocrisy.

  11. great gig in the sky says:

Loving someone does not imply acceptance, justification, or to allow sin.
I regret that you think that's what love is.

  12. Miscella says:

I think his hyporitical! Furthermore, they say sometimes people who are religious that "love" everbody, when they have anything against other religions and Athiests. It seems that happened a lot in history.

  13. sparki77 says:

  18. 0kwbella says:

First, a true Christian is not hypocritical. I know you probably her intimidating for you to realize this. Surprise! I am a Christian and I am a liberal. Sooo Yes, of course, your God given right to be treated fairly and equally to everyone … even if the homosexual. I have a lot of gay friends myself, but I have strong Christian principles that God-fearing my parents encouraged me to have. Shows I've seen that represent gay preachers and their role in their churches .. I'm still interested, and I appluad them for being true to themselves while bringing people to God.
You can be Christian and still think for yourself. Lets face it .. nobody is going to live by every single commandment. We are human beings and born in sin .. born of Satan. However, we can be spiritually in harmony with God, if only seek their guidance and give back to our advasary.
God loves us all … who can not love what a person is, but nevertheless still loves that person. He died for all the living and dead. Pick up a Bible and actually take the time to study even take some courses in Bible study. Only then feel free to make a mockery of strong-willed people Believe it or not, there really such thing as an open-minded Christians who do not "condemn" people or turn our backs on them, simply for what they represent .. .. unless, of course sacrificing babies .. or some shit. Permitting, of course, be reasonable. Make sure to look at yourself before accusing others … and get an educated mind ..
The delay is spreading spiritual in this world … laughs the last of them all, when all the results of fan ……… unfortunately. God bless.

  19. I wonder says:

In 2003, the R.C. the hierarchy and the Knights of Columbus sponsored a petition drive in their churches in the state of Connecticut. They succeeded in persuading the 70,000 Catholics (note that the number!) To deny gay citizens the privileges and obligations that this state and the U.S. provides its citizens heterosexual when they married. (Keep in mind that gay people are not even Catholics are not asking for any rights and privileges of heterosexual Catholics can get through "the sacrament of marriage." All we ask is to be included whenever secular governments decide to provide secular benefits to those who assume the responsibilities of civil marriage.)
How inspiring leadership of the Roman Catholic Church (and some fundamentalist allies) succeeded in convincing many of his followers to oppose any legislation designed to end centuries of oppression and discrimination against their gay brothers and sisters! Since then, the same church engaged in similar efforts in the neighboring state of Massachusetts very Catholic, where many of the worst in the country of priestly pedophilia took place.)
Do you have any idea how many Roman Catholics were persuaded by church leaders to oppose the slaughter of six million Jews and four million other innocent victims? Roman Catholics comprised a larger portion of the population in Germany during the Second World War than they do now in the United States, ie 33% of Germans then, compared to 25% of Americans today. When Hitler needed a large army of "Willing Executioners", as one author called those who actually carried out Hitler's diabolical plans, not to go to Mars or Pluto to recruit the millions of workers and soldiers that are needed. The banks found in Germany, the so-called "Christian" churches, which claimed at least 95% of the population of the nation. Lutheran Protestant Registration was at least as bad as Roman Catholics. However, about one third of the Nazi German army, police, railway workers, prison guards, etc, etc, etc, were Catholic. And http://JesusWouldBeFurious.Org/NaziLeade … shows that a much larger percentage of the principal leaders of the Third Reich were Roman Catholics.
Given the zeal of the bishops in opposition to gay marriage, the Pope and the bishops surely made every effort to Arrous the faithful against the Nazi Holocaust. Era 7 million German Catholics nationwide who persuaded his church to oppose Hitler's murderous administration? No. Was it 700,000? No. Was 70

<<I Católica, Listened to a sermon the other day [unfortunately]?>>
"Unfortunately"? If you think it was "regrettable" to hear this sermon, it is likely that you would probably need to hear it.
<<The priest said we should love everyone unconditionally. Let each and every one can and should be loved. That we must love everyone and can love anyone.>>
Yes We're all human, so everyone should be treated with the dignity of a human being.
<<Uhh, Isn't this hypocritical attitude anti-homosexual traditional Catholic church has?>>
You do not understand. There is hypocrisy.
The Church is not anti-homosexual. The mere fact of being homosexual is a sin. The acts of homosexual relationships are sinful because they violate the Christian virtue of chastity.
Not familiar with the phrase "Hate the sin not the sinner"?
The Catholics hate the sin of homosexual sex.
Catholics do not hate a person because he is gay.
There is a difference, but it is gone and the person has equated with sin - and that's why I think it is hypocritical when it is not.
<<I realize that probably means love, like 'love thy neighbor ", but surely this is just another example of this hypocrisy in the church. Please discuss (=>>
You say the Church is anti-homosexual, though they have not provided any proof of the Doctrine on the Church rightfully-homosexual.
You should consult the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience sexual attraction exclusively or predominantly, to people of the same sex. It has taken a variety of ways through the centuries and across cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. Not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. In no case can be approved.
2358 The number of men and women have homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. Must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These people are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity masturbation, fornication, pornography and homosexual practices.
