I was thinking the same thing is not to say no somewhere in the Bible, to pray to idols …………. hmmmmmmmmmm Jesus Christ and God Himself is the only way to get to heaven and God is the only one who can forgive sins

Yes, God forgives sins. This statement is usually an anti-Catholic reference to the sacrament of Confession. Confession is the Bible too.

It is clear that you do not know your Bible, and these Catholics Cleary speaks of Jesus gives his disciples the power to forgive and retain sins of others. As for the prayer to Mary, not prayer, is a prayer request, just as all Christians do when they ask their own church members to pray for them. Catholics are obviously highly evolved, as Christians realize that there is more to the belief that a book.

Give me a break, like other Christians do not "talk" to their dead relatives in heaven, and think they are "looking out for them" and other things. It's the same principle.
They venerate Mary and the saints as great human beings who are alive in heaven, do not worship them as deities.

We are asking Mary to forgive us our sins. We are simply asking her and those in heaven to pray for us the same way ask someone in this life to pray for you.
Actually, if you read your Bible, you see that Jesus gave his disciples authority and power to forgive or retain sins.

Catholics do not pray to others besides God, as we believe that only God has the capacity to intervene.
What we ask Mary, the saints and nobody else is praying for us.
It's much the same way as asking a friend to pray for you. After all, you are a Christian are not you? There is life after death, what is the difference?

They pray to Mary to intercede on their behalf before God.
Mary is dead and not paying attention. Apart from that it does not hurt anything.
Catholics do not "go by the Bible." In fact, not "go by the Bible" is an official doctrine of the Catholic Church.

In the Catholic Church, tradition and Sacred Scripture have the same authority. That's why we pray to Mary and dead saints. For Protestants the Bible is the sole authority.
