Disclaimer: Not in any way condone what the priests did in the Catholic sex scandal. The priests broke his promise to God and the people who were responsible for one of the worst possible way. Betrayed youth and families of the parishes they serve. The priests were accused of sheperding the faithful on their way to God and did everything possible to lead astray in order to satisfy their own sexual impulses. Neither endorses the actions of those priests who have abused a child, but still tried to hide what happened in order to avoid embarrassment or reprisal. Our children are our most precious natural resource in the world and we must do everything possible to protect them, even if it means admitting that something or someone is wrong. As to whether the Roman Catholic Church ignores the suffering of his parishioners, I would have to say definitely not. Just look at the U.S. dioceses have gone bankrupt trying to take steps to repair some of the damage caused by a select number of men. I know money will not fix what happened to those children (now adults), but this is what the victims wanted, and the Church is doing what he was asked to try to make things right. I'm sure if the other victims having the different demands that the Church do all in its power to comply with them.

No. Actually. And we know for a fact. I can not speak for all Catholic churches in the world but as a whole, we click OK. Everything in the history of our church, we have written to teach our children. My daughter is taking religion classes in Catholic schools. She has a book shows the good and the bad of the church. We take what has happened, as unfortunate and misguided, as it is, and move on. I have not witnessed any disregard. We are not ignorant about it. Not every priest is a pedophile. In fact, I am sure that no religion has its pedophiles, but the media is interested in looking at the Catholic Church. Here, there were 7 cases in the past year in the Methodist churches. 2 in the Christian churches and one Catholic. It happens all the time, everywhere. Not only Catholics, but it still happens. All this is fine. We learn and move on, I guess.
