See how Catholic priests?
Are they human as the rest of us? Are they more holy than ordinary Christians? Do they have special powers from God ~ more than other Christians?

1. Yup - they're human like us. : O) I have a few friends, good priest …
2. Holier than "ordinary" … that depends on the priest … and "ordinary" is. Some are in the fire of God, and do not know if the Holy Spirit led him to heaven and back!
3. They have some special abilities granted them at the time of his ordination. This is the ability to perform certain sacraments of the Church, for example, make the Eucharist, the granting of absolution, the administration of the sacrament of the sick, and of course the participation in the sacrament of Orders. Also baptize Afficiate at weddings (although men and women who actually make the covenant promise to each other).
I think sometimes the "flock" tends to look at their pastor as "super human". We must realize that no matter the denomination, persons holding teaching positions in the church needs the same things the rest of us need. Affirmation, friendship and love.
Great question!

Our priests are human, prone to error and sin. But through the sacrament of Order (and extensive training in seminaries), they are given the authority (what one might call the power) to administer the sacraments in Christ's name - consecration, blessing, marriage, confession, etc. Because of their spiritual studies and training, implementing awareness stronger, better discernment of what is good and right. Training to be a priest is not easy.
That said however, they are all human. Not all are saints. There are good priests who perform their duties as they should, and some people not in it. That's why we are contantly encourages Catholics to pray for our priests. They are more prone to the temptations of the devil.
Incidentally, in case you forgot, hell came from fallen angels.
I see a Catholic priest as a man of God, who dedicated his life to serving God and scripture study, therefore, is much closer to God, then I can be. He is a spiritual guide and a reference. In previous generations, as when my parents were little if there was a priest as a child that was granted to go to heaven with him. Closer to God is more likely to listen to his prayer for himself that way a priest can be more powerful then an ordinary Christian.
From my experience in the Catholic mass, most Catholic priests, see through drooping eyelids nearly closed, and sometimes there are some soft snoring.
I'm pretty sure all the Sign of the Cross gymnastics business is only designed to make sure that people stay awake for at least part of the ceremony.
No, the priests are still men and are only human - something I think people forget sometimes - but are given the authority over the congregation to be our spiritual fathers in Christ.
This is done through the laying on of hands found in Timothy and yes, only ordained priests have the power to forgive sins through the power of the Holy Spirit (which are the tool, but still it is God who forgives), change the bread and wine in the Eucharist (again with the power of the Holy Spirit) and to the seven sacraments.
They are not holier than us, but they are chosen for this work.
Priest as educated men believe in Gods ways. Who have studied and are scholars of the Bible. Yes … who are ordained and are able to perform the sacraments. Because we have dedicated their lives in service of the gods so … been granted certain authority. We are not priests, in any form of worship (which is a nasty rumor I've heard for different religions), but they look at their dedication and knowledge. They look like the man who by his love for God and others … have been devoted to teaching and conducting the gods and love message.
Priest is like any other person with a special vocation. Some examples of our faith and make mistakes. A priest is on the same trip that we and the congregation is as important to him as he is to us.
I've been lucky in my life to know many very wise and learned priest. A good priest is a kind of aura about him, his strong faith and example can really motivate the faithful.
Shepard For God's special powers are given the authority to perform the sacraments and have a responsibility to be good.
I consider myself fortunate to be a priest
As human beings, and since they are human beings who also falls under 3 categories, cocks, and holes ******* ***
