The protesters are from Mars, Venus Catholics?

Or something like that …
There are a lot of writing about Catholics called the Protestant ethic and worldview. "But what does this mean? How can Catholics and Protestants see the world so different and how? I'm not talking theology - Mary, Saints, Pope, Transfiguration, etc. I'm talking about the basic worldview. Evangelicals do not see the money, politics, savings, etc. differently? Catholics are more likely to drink alcohol? Protestants are more cold and reserved?

The best answer I can probably give is that, judging from the differences in worldviews between Catholics and Protestants is probably not the way forward, as each person has a different opinion about everything.
Instead, I suggest you study and imitate the lives of the saints. They are modeled after Christ in a profound way (ultimately, because it ceased to be instruments of our Lord). If someone wanted a "proper" worldview, I would say they are a good place to start. How many lives and how society was better because of their sacrifices, charity and kindness?
      God bless.

I think the question has merit - more merit in other countries. I do not think that Catholics and Protestants in America, politically, are different. Both religions are tolerant of each other in America. Other countries are politically divided by religion.
I have thorough knowledge of these countries or people.

This is a very interesting thing because we would all sit in the same boat with more comfort than we have now. I think it was both apostasy and aetheism, materialism and hedonism, that each side stuck to their own opinion instead of jumping ship. I think the Protestants and the Catholics as an ox and the Lamb, not pull very well together, but they do often work well together, each in its own right. I believe that the divisions had to be, but most Catholics would not want me to say. I see the goodness and worth of each side. Give some examples.
Protestants believe in hard work as the means to create the common good and development of the world's resources.
Protestants believe in a fundamental set of principals and those who claim these as fundamental. Often, we will not discuss his views, but to quote the Bible. Protestants look good in terms of character.
Catholics believe in grace through a sacramental way of life.
They believe that God shapes the world and that their work is in union with His grace. Catholics believe in the virtue of distinguishment as well. Catholics often as their point of view of the Catechism, which is a thorough study of the Bible and Sacred Tradition of the Saints, all based on the teachings through the Holy Spirit.
Catholics and Protestants are concerned about the integrity and morality. Neither group believes in the excessive indulgence in alcohol, both wish they could save more and give more.
Both are disappointed in the state of the world and the state of the nation. Both believe in the metanoia, conversion of heart and have a personal relationship with God. Catholics believe in sacramental confession and the Mass as instituted by Christ. Protestants see the Holy Spirit as central to their lives and believe that the grace of God works in them as well.
Both revere the Apostles and believe Jesus is Lord of all. Catholics have a special reverence for the Mother of Jesus as the model of the Church and decisive in the grace of God.
It seems that the more traditional they are, unless you can appreciate its special role in shaping the world together. And if not met in their faith, their collaboration is about to take over more and more. But if you ever took possession of these reigns the way they should, which would be wonderful world we live
The word Catholic means universal, so that all revolve around the Light of the World, Jesus Christ. It's time to start acting like him, eh?

Catholics may be more liberal, will not say anything the Pope, Catholics believe they are right.
Christians are to believe that what Jesus and the Bible are the final authority, not man (men) can decide for God, Christians believe that Jesus is the only way of salvation. (And the other things on the list):
      John 14:6 (Jesus)
      Romans 10
      Eph 2
      John 3:15-21
      Job 19

I am a Protestant, which is how I was raised. My dad's half brother and half sister raised their children Catholic. There are differences, that comes to mind is my cousin went to the priest to confess their sins and go directly to God in prayer.
Mostly I choose to see things we have in common. Everything is the same God.
Having two different religions in our family was never a problem.
Many years ago a Native American chief, Chief Joseph in the Nez Pierce said something like: We do not want churches because they teach us to discuss God, as Catholics and Protestants do. We do not want that.
I agree with what I do not want to argue about God.

  6. Thin Kaboudit says:

Catholicism was the only "Christianity" not quite up to 500 years ago when he invented the Protestant church. Both Protestants and Catholics consistently violate the rules of their respective churches, although I believe that Protestant clergy in general, be a little easier for their young.

  7. wassupma says:

Forget both and keep the Bible. not look to the right or left, but keep his eyes fixed on Jesus. Catholics put their traditions over the Word and Protestants put above his own understanding of the Word.

  8. Delia says:

The protesters also drink and not all Catholics drink. I think these are stereotypes.

  11. Father K ™ says:

I think he meant "transubstantiation" - not "Transfiguration".
Both Protestants and Catholics believe in the Transfiguration of our Lord. It's in Matthew, Mark and Luke's Gospel

  12. Meg M says:

Having been both Catholic and Protestant, I can say that Catholicism much greater emphasis on helping others that makes Protestantism, which has more than a "pull yourself by your own bootstraps" about life .
