What do you really feel about The Da Vinci Code?
My opinion is that it is a work of fiction that is interesting, but not opening. I'm Catholic and I'm not offended because I know it's a story that Mr. Brown created to make money. It is based on some theories of other types of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. My view on this is that there is no way that this would have been covered, first, if occurred, would have known. The church was also upset about the way Opus Dei was portrayed in the novel and now film. What I understand about most devoted cults is that the church would not do harm to others. There is still a form of self inflicted pain sancify to oneself. Many saints, even did this, flogging themselves and the deliberate killing of the life of pleasure (fasting, vows of poverty) in order to redirect their life in God. Although I do not think self harm is a good idea, I can understand the meaning behind this and what people did so.
- What is the official statement from the Vatican The Da Vinci Code Movies?

This question seems to be the fashion of the time:
I was disappointed with the book. The pace was great, but the end was very artificial.
Over-rated.
As for the implications of the book does not really care.Assuming there is a conspiracy or cover-up in something that can not be proven is a waste of time and energy.
Assuming that a coverup would be impossible without the public knowing it is naive.
Anyway, there are more pressing issues with the modern world that people need to discuss / AIDS, hunger, Iran, Iraq, etc. Let's put away the fiction and in line with reality?
People who do not want others to believe in God try to make controversial and say that Christ had a wife and so on ….
It's all a lie, the Da Vinci Code is fiction 100%, if people move away from the man he is, and firm position on exactly what the Bible says and nothing more, people are not affect you.
A decoder De Vinci, where truth is being told rather than all made up half-truths. God sent Jesus, who is part of it down to earth and die for our sins. Jesus had no time nor is God's will for him to date. Jesus is and was a saint. He came to earth on a mission and it's over. The Da Vinci Code is only trash. Thank you for being smart and sensitive.
Opus Dei is a form of worship. No way to sugar coat it, is a form of worship. That does not mean they can not do God's work and good for humainty … but it does mean is that there is by strictly controlling the minds of its members. Unfortunately, whatever the truth, maybe behind the Opus Dei, which is too easy to use them or other secret organizations like the sinister forces for dramatic story telling. If not, the basic story of Brown is new but has existed for a long time. What I had to do was "Spice it up" with the action and villains to make it sell.
Any reasonable mind are understood and not caring about their work. It's a story as Goldie and the Three Bears. Big Dea, just enjoy the fiction because it is not real.
prohibition should not be placed in this film
AMEN! I am of the same religious beliefs and my father gave a homily on why all the Da Vinci Code is so bad and my mother and I are seeing each other as "Hello! This is fiction! "At least I take it as fiction and believe that such a thing as a direct line of descendants of Christ and Mary Magdalene, simply does not exist. In my opinion, makes me stronger in my faith to be able to separate what I believe and what I read in a work of fiction. I rather enjoy the debate that inevitably results from this book if:)
On another note, I learned that Dan Brown, when he was in some talk show or an interview, he said he believes that what his book on maps, on the descendants of Mary and Jesus. Interesting.
The book and movie were pretty boring and predictable, so stop here for a proper marketing!
OK, well my mom said she found the book boring. She even fell asleep when I went to see the film.
I also think it is a work of fiction. It says in the book. I'm not offended because this is all fiction. it's like when everyone thought it was witchcraft of Harry Potter and evil. I think it will fly and I would like everyone to stop making such a big deal out of it.
OK. I liked the book and movie. It's fiction. However, there are people who believe in the bloodline of Jesus, and if you google the Priory of Sion, we obtain much information. Also, Dan Brown took most of the information in a book called "Holy Blood, Holy Grail. I recommend it higher.
For me it's just a boring fiction.
I like the movie a lot ..
and I love the book
I think it's a lot of Baloni though I think would be good if more people are exposed to chrisitanity and may want to find answers because of that though Christianity is not portrayed well at all. All I can say is that has caused many open discussions and debate is a good thing.
There is no way that he had a relationship with Mary, because having a reltionship like that have taken their approach to the whole reason why he came to earth first. one, moreover, it was a sacred being.
Good movie good book that "all s
But girl, thousands of people have been asking this same question.I do not bother thinking for yourself and read questions from other people and you've wuold not answers. If ask yourself this question now.
I hate the way as in the movies. is so stupid.
I think it's crap, and waz a waste of my time and money.
I was not very impressed with the way it was written and I'm surprised it was not. 1 on the bestseller list for so long (I personally can not be placed on the no. 1 in all), but some of the ideas behind it were interesting.
I'm not Catholic … I am a Christian ….. I had a lot of things, the turbulence on this film …. but as you said it's fiction. However … What bothers me most about this film is that there are people going to watch this movie and we believe this story …. I did not see the Da Vinci Code …. but I do not want to support a movie that would discredit Jesus Christ …. I've also broken. Any clarity would be appreciated.
