  1. Cara an chait says:

One of the main planks of the difference between Catholicism and Protestantism concern the meaning of the Eucharist, when bread and wine offered at the consecration during Mass, the Roman Catholic doctrine holds that these are converted in the body and blood of Christ. No, they do not know how the flesh and blood - we must not believe they have the taste of either, because that is what is called to believe as a Catholic. What you have to believe that the presence is real is what you receive in Holy Communion. They said the version of the Anglican Communion is more a part of his holy memorial service, but I am not knowledgeable enough to go into further details.
The other part is papal infallibility. This does not mean that every word the Pope is infallible. It refers to the infallibility of his relationship with the pronouncements on matters of doctrine. The reason for this is that in Roman Catholicism is appointed as the representative of God on earth. Peter the apostle was appointed by Jesus as the first and the Pope is his successor.

There is no difference! We serve the same God. God does not ask us what we went to church on earth?
      Catholic means <universal>
      John 3 vs 16 …. try.

Methodists are quite genuine Christians, Cof E is closer to C of E PLC and have lost their way, Catholics have lost the plot seriously, what the hell is a pope, Jesus said look guys I'm going to die, choose yourself a pope and the rest of you may be bruising, did not say when three or more are gathered have a bite to eat and a dropm alcohol and remember me. Certainly there is enough difference between Protestants and Catholics for a good piece

  4. JANET M says:

Jesus verses of Pope, for Catholics call the Pope the Holy Father, when God, who is the Holy Father

The Protestant church began when Luther and other like minded people protested against the Catholic Church prevailed.
Also known as the Reformed Church.
The Catholic Church teaches that ordinary people could only access to God through a priest - who carried out the service in America and not encourage people to read the Bible for themselves.
= Luther taught "Sola Scriptura" Scripture alone. In other words, do not accept the word of man - only trust the word of God revealed in the Bible.
Catholics have a set of beliefs which are not supported by scripture - like the veneration of Mary, transubstatiation (bread actually becomes the body of Jesus), the importance and infallibility of the Pope.
Many Protestant denominations have abandoned any pretense of belief in Scripture as authority. Many Anglican bishops in the West, for example, have very liberal views of sexuality, to deny the biblical creation, and so on.
But this should not be Surpise - the Bible tells us that all men are liars, and the devil deceives the whole world.

They differ in the nature of the Eucharist. The Pope is considered the successor of Peter and the primacy of Jesus came to the election from him. This is rejected by Protestants. The Catholic Church claims to have the whole truth about Jesus' mission and affirms the authority to teach without error. (Papal infallibility), also rejected by Protestants.

  7. robbief1 says:

Protestants are Protestant, in other words, what Catholics are, they're against.

Two separate groups of widespread shit!

  9. John r says:

There are many differences;, Justification Communion, etc. Baptisam
Alex A, as the communion of Lutherans believe in the real presence. That the body and blood of Christ are present in the bread and wine.

  10. Anonymou says:

In most other denominations, priests can marry, but not in the Catholic religion.

    Catholic:
believe their denomonation (potato, most of the exaltation of Mary, etc.) is the only real name).
      The Protestant (all non-Catholics):
believe that all types of Evangelism views.some similar to Catholics, Baptists (heavy, avoids the Holy Spirit gifts), Full Gospel varied but ususally support of the Holy Spirit, but not to evangelize.
Library would be required to explain each group.
      research itself.
Romans 10 is a good start.

  12. marcyfio says:

Not much difference as most of the Protestant churches split from the Catholic Church around the dark years of the Middle Ages. Luther developed his own church of the Catholic Church after having deposited their seven complaints from the Catholic Church to the church door in Germany and the Anglican Church of England is also based on the Catholic Church only after Henry VIII wanted to get a divorce and the Catholic Church would not let him divorce his wife at the time. The only churches that had its own identity were the Methodist Church, who came from the Anglican Church and the churches of North America was formed of the rural population and, like the Baptist churches and Mormons.

Bugger all … all believe in the fiction, stories of 2000 years old … and then discuss their interpretation ….. the strange thing is that …?.. make your people today, such as Harry Potter in a religion ….

  14. imacatho says:

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
Only by grace through faith in Christ's saving work and not for any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping and calling us to good works.
There are many minor issues and the doctrine of some major traditional cultural differences that I think does not matter much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of his new church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.
      With love in Christ.

  15. Sam's says:

Catholics have the Pope and Protestant saints pray directly to God and see Jesus as head of the church. the differences between denominations are generally protistant miner. Methodist banned alcohol in the fellowship that the use of non-alcoholic wine, as a large number of Protestant churches do now. Baptist beleave in adult baptism babtisum not invant (babtism). but all denominations beleave Jesus is the Savior and the only way to God (heaven)

  16. NoLabel 11 says:

I thought that Catholics believe in the Trinity.
The son, the father, the Holy Spirit and the other was only for Jesus.
I have always found this confusing and I'm probably wrong.

  17. Clive says:

Happy Catholics are hypocrites because they do what they want, regardless of their own teaching. Subsequently, confess and have a clean slate after. A little like the rich boy whose father periodically delete your debts. Catholics have never forgiven Henry VIII for reform and all of them potential enemies of our monarchy.
Protesters try to avoid going against their beliefs and therefore have less fun than the Catholics. Therefore, there is a strong Protestant work ethic that leaves Prods with less free time to consider the joys they are missing.

  18. don_stee says:

    Jesus v / s. Pope

  19. carla s says:

They are people with different beliefs that is all that is too much.

  20. twinklet says:

The basic answer would be for their beliefs. Protestants formed when Henry VIII did not like the rule of the Catholic church, which declared that he could not divorce. Every Protestant church comes from the Catholic Church carried out only the bits that do not like and made their own rules. Catholics removed things from the truth to suit them too. Methodist evangleists, Baptists, etc. are all mixtures of the Protestant church compound.

  21. Eso_ uk says:

Catholics follow the Pope. Protestants follow the Bible

  22. jewl 32 says:

Protestant: the bread and wine (Communion service) is the body and blood of Jesus.
Catholic: the bread and wine (Communion service) is tha the body and blood of Jesus.
And this is why thousands of Catholics and Protestants kill each other.
