For ignorance is rampant among those who deny what God has revealed about the Blessed Mother. We do not worship it, no. Do we condemn those that do, yes. Do we have the honor of her, damn Skippy, because hey, was born without sin, gave birth to God in human form ... etc, is also respected. If you deny it, you deny the fruit of her womb. It's like denying that the apple of apple wine, you must also deny the descendants of the tree, the apple.

Not so. Being a Catholic I find myself with this. Let me give an answer for other viewers too. Mary and all saints, martyrs, etc., not venerated in the Catholic faith. Saying a prayer to Mary, for example, would ask Mary to also submit your prayer to God on their behalf. In essence, Mary would pray with you God. The same applies to the Martyrs, All Saints, and so on.

Kate, we Catholics have been explaining to our Protestant friends for nearly 500 years. Now that we do not now, nor have I ever worship the Virgin. She is not the tacit 4th member of the Trinity, which is the most favorable for the perfect presentation to the will of God. I do not think that after all these centuries of explanations for the patients who will never be able to make them see the difference. I think the root of the problem is that they interpret the word worship differently than we do. Pax Christi.

I was a Catholic once, so I understand the difference between worship and devotion, and about intercession. If any of these are not part of a particular faith, the adherents of that faith can not have the mentality to appreciate the subtle differences that Catholics see in these concepts.

I wonder why you talk so defensive. N Catholic worship of saints or Mother Mary. We pay tribute to her, but do not worship her. If people feel otherwise, is their choice. We all know the truth. No need to give undue prominence to these people.
