Why Catholics Change The The 10 Commandments?

Reaserching and found I was in the days when the Catholic people to change the 10 commandments, one of the commandments is the second commandment Thou shalt not make to thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in below land, or is in the water under the earth: You must not bow thyself to them nor serve them, for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me and keep My commandments. but a lot of cathlics bow to the saints and the Virgin Mary is not the truth I'm speaking my mind we need to let people know that they are idols and worship Jesus not only the image of the Virgin Mary or saints any false are there people who awakens the aroma of coffee that will have no idols and what God always bless you now and forever

  1. imacatho says:

There are actually three versions of the Ten Commandments, Jews, Catholics (and Lutherans), and Protestant taken from Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy chapter Chapter 5:6-21.
With the new revelations of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in the early Catholic Church, a slightly different emphasis was placed on various commandments.
Then, 1500 years later, the Protestants to oppose certain Catholic practices, once changed the emphasis of the Ten Commandments.

  2. Sentinel says:

I'm Catholic and I am very happy that I can rely on their good old firm view that I and others the faith of my right, tell me what is worrying is that you, Jesus is my judge? or has replaced him?
It's okay if you want to blow off Bible allows it, what were the Israelites to worship in Egypt? How do you know?
What were worshiping in the desert when Moses was outside the camp?
What did the fashion, as Moses was on Sinai receiving the 10 commandments?
the answer: the worship of Baal, and Baal really is this? none other than Lucifer.
Now let me first point out to you and others like you that as a Catholic I have never worshiped a statue or a picture in my life and I know of no other Catholic or not, what is needed for their way of thinking to understand this?
Secondly, I / we worship the Holy Trinity and nothing else, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints in the very presence of the Holy Trinity, which only receive the honor and respect they rightfully theirs, is that not degrade people with authority and rob the Holy Mother of dignity it deserves as the tabernacle sin of Salvador, some of those who deny its conception without sin, as if the Lord hates sin, would be born to a women with sin in his soul.
now was okay to pay honor and respect for the Blessed Virgin and the saints, and I can add to the Sacred Heart of Jesus before the Reformation, for almost 1500yrs but now the saber rattling and piety sactimonious decide that you deserve and have God in his back pocket.
I could go, but I will end this is a picture / statue of Jesus, Mary or a saint, Baal? Is this what you are going to get into my throat next? you, by chance, to maintain an image of someone I love deeply about yourself or you're home? let me ask why, and his own response is my response to their removal, aren `t that is only a reminder of your love? please me and my fellow Catholics at least some of their Christian charity called, and seek salvation after you have and we'll do the same.

  3. sister steph says:

Oh for the love of little green apples! We do not worship statues! We do not worship Mary and the Saints! did you get that? We ask the saints and Mary intecede on our behalf, as the mother may ask to speak with his father to the new bike you want. Nothing changes. When the Protestants left the Catholic Church changed the Bible.

  4. Giovanni G says:

You do not have to follow the Catholic religion, if you want!
But let's Catholic religion, if we want, if I believe in the Catholic Church does not think to offend you or anyone else. It's just what I believe.

  5. simmonsb says:

The best question I've seen today!

  6. mesquite says:

ereyes, like most of his stupid ** answers to serious questions, you come with another question idiot full of misinformation that you received from a fundamentalist preacher who knows nothing outside its strict interpretation of the Bible.
The Catholics do not worship the saints or Mary. I suggest you go talk to a priest to clarify all the misconceptions you have about the Catholic Church.
But I know it because you're afraid of what might be discovered: that what is taught about the original Christian church is wrong.

  7. wise says:

    WOW!
now allow you are a worshiper of idols not believe you should have a head injury you have to see how mistakes like fools do and I will explain it!
Jesus (peace be upon him) is Allahu Ta'ala! nor has claimed that he was told he was and claim to be and the Christian religion is wrong from the door of the entire book not accept that claim to be so "holy"!
Dont get me started it, and here you go saying what you know so sure and its wrong!
Now I bet you did not know that drunk (King James) is responsible for translating the "New Testament", right?

  8. Max Marie, OSF says:

    For Protti … Commandment 9
      For Caths … Commandment 8
You must not give false testimony!
      you are breaking that commandment.
      Dear Friend:
Maybe I should stop being so judgmental and open your eyes.
The commandments are all equal. It's just the way they kill them is different.
Catholics, Anglicans and Lutherans to lump together the first three.
Jews that the top three in two. Like most of the Protestants. But differ in how these three are broken.
      Catholics, Anglicans and Lutherans say:
      1) I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt … Have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol …
      Jews say
      1) I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt …
      2) have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol …
Other Protestant (other than Ang or Luth) said:
      1) I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt … You shall have no other gods before me.
      2) You shall not make for yourself an idol …
They make the difference by grouping together the last two commandments.
Please believe me, just because people like you just love to hate Catholics …
Here is the proof of the Douay Rheims version of the Holy Bible.
      Deuteronomy. Chapter 5. Verses 6-8
6 I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, the house of bondage.
7 You have no other gods before me.
8 Do not you do what you are for an engraving, or the likeness of things that are in heaven, or are in the earth beneath, or that remain in the waters under the earth.
Note that the Douay Rheims is the first English translation of the Bible. The beloved Protestant Bible KJV was almost copied from the Douay Rheims, with only a few anti-Catholic edits made as the change of "chatter" to "repetition" as a way of condemning the rosary.
The books also note that the original King James version was called the Standard English version and contains all the same "" like the Douay Rheims.
The protesters arrived later and dropped all the books that the Catholic dogma of reference. Claiming that went back to his Jewish roots - but not accept the Jewish version of the 10 Commandments. Then he changed the name of his new translation of the Bible in the King James Version.
      That's just not …
ehem … So who changed what? Look at yours.

  9. Jennifer says:

I agree with Steph. Catholics did not change the 10 commandments, the Protestants did.
I wish people will do a little research on a topic before they start attacking. The ignorance is so disgusting.

  10. Roxton P says:

Catholic commandment has never changed .. is Jewish and that everything is in the Bible.
The new commandment proclaimed by Christ says to love God and to each .. other thats the only thing that matters.
As long as you obey the new commandment, who cares what the Catholics?

  11. Midge says:

Catholics did not change the commandments. Everyone is there so how do you explain the fashion images of the Seraphim and Cherubim, the Lord said to do and put in the Ark of the Covenant.? You have no understanding of the Catholic faith.

  12. Gods child says:

You are misinformed, only worship God, paintings and statues to help us raise our hearts closer to God that we honor not worship them, pray with them and ask for intercession.
Matt. 5:44-45 - Jesus tells us to pray for (to mediate on behalf of) those who persecute us. God teaches us to mediate.
Matt. 17:1-3, Mark 9:4, Luke 9:30-31 - Moses and Elijah are dead in the Transfiguration of Jesus talk in the presence of Peter, James and John (these may be the two "witnesses" John referred to in Revelation 11:3). Nothing in Scripture suggests that God never hates or cut the communication between those who live in the sky and life on earth. By contrast, encourages communication of God in the communion of saints. Moses and Elijah appeared on the earth also teach that the saints in heaven have capabilities that far exceed our limits in the land.
Matt. 26:53 - Jesus says He can call upon the assistance of twelve legions of angels. If Jesus said he could request assistance from the angels - and obviously I have been worshiping in it - then so can we, who need help infinitely more than Jesus, and without participating in idolatry. And in Matt. 22:30, Jesus says will be "like angels in heaven." This means that human saints (like the angels) can be called to help people on earth. God allows and encourages interaction between family members.
Matt. 27:47,49, Mark 15:35-36 - people believe that Jesus calls Elijah for his intercession, and wait to see if Elijah would come to save Jesus on the cross.
Matt. 27:52-53 - Jesus in the passion, many saints were raised and went to town to appear and, presumably, interact with people, as Jesus did after His resurrection.
Mark 11:24 - Jesus says that all we ask in prayer, receive it. It is Jesus, and also that through Jesus, to mediate.
John 2:3 - Jesus knew that the wine was gone, but encourages and responds to the intercession of Mary. God wants our child mediation and respond to it, because He is a living and loving God.
John 2:5 - Mary intercedes on behalf of people in the wedding party and tells them to do what Jesus says. Because Mary is the perfect model of faith, we also intercede for our brothers and sisters.
John 2:11 - in fact, was the intercession of Mary, Jesus' ministry began. His hour had not yet arrived, however, Jesus responds to the intercession of Mary. Though he could do it all by himself, God wants to work with their children.
Acts 12:7 - an angel strikes Peter on the side and woke him, releasing him from prison. The angel answers the prayers of Peter.
Rom. 15:30 - Paul commands the family of God to pray for him. If we are united in one body of Christ, we can help each other.
2 Cor. 1:11 - Paul suggests that sentences even more and more people praying the better! Prayer is even more effective when coupled with other sentences.
2 Cor. 9:14 - Paul says that the earthly saints prayer to the Corinthians. Mediate subordinates in Christ.
2 Cor. 13:7,9 - Paul says that the elders pray that the Corinthians can do good and improve. They participate in the mediation of Christ.
Gal. 6:2,10 - Paul exhorts us to bear one another's burdens, and to do good to all, especially the family of faith.
Eph. 6:18 - Paul commands the family of God to pray for others.
Eph. 6:19 - Paul commands the Ephesians to pray for him. If only one mediator, why Paul calls his prayers?
Phil. 1:19 - Paul recognizes the power of the intercession of the earth Philippians. Will be awarded for their prayers and the Holy Spirit.
Col. 1:3 - Paul says he and the elders pray for the Colossians. Mediate subordinates in the body of Christ.
Col. 1:9 - Paul says that he and the elders have not stopped praying for the Colossians, and that through the intercession, they can get wisdom.
Col. 4:4 - Paul commands the Colossians to pray for the elders of the church so that God may open a door for the word. Why Paul did not just leave it to God? Because subordinate mediation is acceptable and pleasing to God, and produces changes in the world. This is as mysterious as the Incarnation, but true.

  13. ♥ Rose♥ says:

I am Catholic Christian. I'm really tired of saying that absolutely do not worship anyone, but not the one true God in the Holy Trinity. How many times must I say this????
Jesus said, "Whoever does the will of my Father, my Father will honor." If God honors Mary and the saints, why not?
And ask them to intercede for us? Well, in Revelation, the saints (saints) to bring our prayers to God. If you can ask your friend to pray for you (and St. Paul encourages us to pray for each other) why you can not ask the saints to pray for you, who are much closer to God than his friend because they are in heaven?
And Catholics agree that only worship the one God. Only worship God / Jesus. The Church has never taught otherwise.
And indeed, Catholics did not change the Ten Commandments. There are two lists of the Ten Commandments in two different chapters of the Bible
Catholics follow the commandments as St. Augustine put them together. We combine the first, second and third commandments.
Protestants combine the first and second commandments and the ninth and tenth commandments
      .
Either way, you end up with ten commandments. Check out this chart that shows very clearly. If they accuse us of the combination of the commandments, then you have to blame himself as well.http: / / en.wikipedia.org / wiki / Ten_Command …

  14. Stanbo says:

I am a Catholic and worship none but God in the Holy Trinity. The Catholic Church teaches that worship anyone but God. We do not worship Mary, we honor her as the mother of God. He said that in the Bible, "All generations will call me blessed." We do not worship saints. We ask you to help us and to pray for us as we ask a friend or family to help us or pray for us. No statues of worship, use them as a reminder of the holy people that we use as an example of how we live our lives. Do not be fooled by those who say that the Catholic Church teaches that are not taught properly. If you want to know about the Catholic faith to ask a Catholic who has been properly schooled in the faith.
      God bless,
      Stanbo

  15. Father K ™ says:

I think his "research" methods need a lot of help!
The question (and the Commandment) is about worship. I'm Catholic and I can tell you that we reserve the true worship of God. Saints, the Blessed Virgin, are not "idols" - are the other members of the Church Triumphant - the ancient Creeds of the Church tell us who believe in the "communion of saints." St. Paul teaches us that even "death" does not separate us from the "love of Christ."
Venerate (not worship) of the saints and members of the Body of Christ (the Church, of which all the baptized are members) - and ask for your prayers and continual intercession for us - much as I could ask to pray for me. No difference if, in fact, we believe the Holy Scriptures (we do) and believe that what Paul said about the nature of the Church.
Worship is for God alone. No changes were made to the Ten, or any other Commandments.

  16. Bungle says:

    John 14:6
Jesus said: "I am the way, truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Statues of saints are not the way to God, but only Christ.
Place the thumbs down, but is arguing against Scripture.

  17. Sean says:

Have you been to a Catholic church. Its nothing but the recorded images

  18. Chippy10 says:

Commandment 11: pray you and Mary worship.

  19. Amigurl says:

Have you ever been in a Catholic church? There are statues of saints and Jesus and Mary all over the place. They changed it because they realized what they were doing was against the commandments, and do not want change. I agree that is wrong, and I see it as blasphamy to change the word of God.

  20. Queen Kira says:

You're right, they did change the 10 commandments. In fact, the book of Revelation says that the Beast (the Vatican) will try to change times and laws.
The first commandment which was delivered from the 2nd - "you shall not worship any graven image, nor bow to them." They removed because they did bow to images (of Mary and the Saints) and adores.
They changed "Saturday" in the command of 4 to "The Lord's Day" so we could say that God's day Santo Domingo, although the Bible says that the "Lord's Day" is 7 fifth day Saturday.
Since I took the 2nd Commandment, which had to break the 10th Commandment in two in order to still have 10. So it became the 9th commandment: "Thou shalt be your neighbor's wife, not covet," and 10 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods."
These changes are found in the Catechism, but ironically, if you read the New American Bible (the modern Catholic Bible), are the 10 commandments as originally written! Go figure.

  21. mortgage says:

I agree with you in principal and I also believe that sin in this, but I also know that Jesus said love the sinner not the sin. Therefore, even the holiest of men can do more than point out the sin and let it go. God will judge as he pleases. They are entitled to their opinion.

  22. AnswerMa says:

Very true - Catholics are not Christians - who worship Satan and his earthly figure of the Pope.
It changed the 10 commandments - just totally ignored.
If the huddled masses who listen to and blindly followed evanglists read the Bible, but one might imagine they are and always have been deceived. There should be no such thing as crosses, presumably prayer beads, or even public churches - any sentence that is done in private and supposedly very personal, not a thing to wave at the sight of all as filthy rags . Priests must be married, women are supposed to be the leaders of a local Christian organization - and men can never be in charge - that can teach but can not be in charge. And much much more. Whatever the exact opposite of what the force by the noses of everyone, brainwashing to follow Satan instead.

  23. delhipop says:

We can not speak to Catholics about their religion is wrong because they think it's the only one that's fine. Just ask. I've always felt that looking down on all the other religions that they feel superior to everyone else.
