Catholics did not change the commandments. Everyone is there so how do you explain the fashion images of the Seraphim and Cherubim, the Lord said to do and put in the Ark of the Covenant.? You have no understanding of the Catholic faith.

You are misinformed, only worship God, paintings and statues to help us raise our hearts closer to God that we honor not worship them, pray with them and ask for intercession. Matt. 5:44-45 - Jesus tells us to pray for (to mediate on behalf of) those who persecute us. God teaches us to mediate. Matt. 17:1-3, Mark 9:4, Luke 9:30-31 - Moses and Elijah are dead in the Transfiguration of Jesus talk in the presence of Peter, James and John (these may be the two "witnesses" John referred to in Revelation 11:3). Nothing in Scripture suggests that God never hates or cut the communication between those who live in the sky and life on earth. By contrast, encourages communication of God in the communion of saints. Moses and Elijah appeared on the earth also teach that the saints in heaven have capabilities that far exceed our limits in the land. Matt. 26:53 - Jesus says He can call upon the assistance of twelve legions of angels. If Jesus said he could request assistance from the angels - and obviously I have been worshiping in it - then so can we, who need help infinitely more than Jesus, and without participating in idolatry. And in Matt. 22:30, Jesus says will be "like angels in heaven." This means that human saints (like the angels) can be called to help people on earth. God allows and encourages interaction between family members. Matt. 27:47,49, Mark 15:35-36 - people believe that Jesus calls Elijah for his intercession, and wait to see if Elijah would come to save Jesus on the cross. Matt. 27:52-53 - Jesus in the passion, many saints were raised and went to town to appear and, presumably, interact with people, as Jesus did after His resurrection. Mark 11:24 - Jesus says that all we ask in prayer, receive it. It is Jesus, and also that through Jesus, to mediate. John 2:3 - Jesus knew that the wine was gone, but encourages and responds to the intercession of Mary. God wants our child mediation and respond to it, because He is a living and loving God. John 2:5 - Mary intercedes on behalf of people in the wedding party and tells them to do what Jesus says. Because Mary is the perfect model of faith, we also intercede for our brothers and sisters. John 2:11 - in fact, was the intercession of Mary, Jesus' ministry began. His hour had not yet arrived, however, Jesus responds to the intercession of Mary. Though he could do it all by himself, God wants to work with their children. Acts 12:7 - an angel strikes Peter on the side and woke him, releasing him from prison. The angel answers the prayers of Peter. Rom. 15:30 - Paul commands the family of God to pray for him. If we are united in one body of Christ, we can help each other. 2 Cor. 1:11 - Paul suggests that sentences even more and more people praying the better! Prayer is even more effective when coupled with other sentences. 2 Cor. 9:14 - Paul says that the earthly saints prayer to the Corinthians. Mediate subordinates in Christ. 2 Cor. 13:7,9 - Paul says that the elders pray that the Corinthians can do good and improve. They participate in the mediation of Christ. Gal. 6:2,10 - Paul exhorts us to bear one another's burdens, and to do good to all, especially the family of faith. Eph. 6:18 - Paul commands the family of God to pray for others. Eph. 6:19 - Paul commands the Ephesians to pray for him. If only one mediator, why Paul calls his prayers? Phil. 1:19 - Paul recognizes the power of the intercession of the earth Philippians. Will be awarded for their prayers and the Holy Spirit. Col. 1:3 - Paul says he and the elders pray for the Colossians. Mediate subordinates in the body of Christ. Col. 1:9 - Paul says that he and the elders have not stopped praying for the Colossians, and that through the intercession, they can get wisdom. Col. 4:4 - Paul commands the Colossians to pray for the elders of the church so that God may open a door for the word. Why Paul did not just leave it to God? Because subordinate mediation is acceptable and pleasing to God, and produces changes in the world. This is as mysterious as the Incarnation, but true.

I am Catholic Christian. I'm really tired of saying that absolutely do not worship anyone, but not the one true God in the Holy Trinity. How many times must I say this???? Jesus said, "Whoever does the will of my Father, my Father will honor." If God honors Mary and the saints, why not? And ask them to intercede for us? Well, in Revelation, the saints (saints) to bring our prayers to God. If you can ask your friend to pray for you (and St. Paul encourages us to pray for each other) why you can not ask the saints to pray for you, who are much closer to God than his friend because they are in heaven? And Catholics agree that only worship the one God. Only worship God / Jesus. The Church has never taught otherwise. And indeed, Catholics did not change the Ten Commandments. There are two lists of the Ten Commandments in two different chapters of the Bible Catholics follow the commandments as St. Augustine put them together. We combine the first, second and third commandments. Protestants combine the first and second commandments and the ninth and tenth commandments . Either way, you end up with ten commandments. Check out this chart that shows very clearly. If they accuse us of the combination of the commandments, then you have to blame himself as well.http: / / en.wikipedia.org / wiki / Ten_Command ...

I am a Catholic and worship none but God in the Holy Trinity. The Catholic Church teaches that worship anyone but God. We do not worship Mary, we honor her as the mother of God. He said that in the Bible, "All generations will call me blessed." We do not worship saints. We ask you to help us and to pray for us as we ask a friend or family to help us or pray for us. No statues of worship, use them as a reminder of the holy people that we use as an example of how we live our lives. Do not be fooled by those who say that the Catholic Church teaches that are not taught properly. If you want to know about the Catholic faith to ask a Catholic who has been properly schooled in the faith. God bless, Stanbo

I think his "research" methods need a lot of help! The question (and the Commandment) is about worship. I'm Catholic and I can tell you that we reserve the true worship of God. Saints, the Blessed Virgin, are not "idols" - are the other members of the Church Triumphant - the ancient Creeds of the Church tell us who believe in the "communion of saints." St. Paul teaches us that even "death" does not separate us from the "love of Christ." Venerate (not worship) of the saints and members of the Body of Christ (the Church, of which all the baptized are members) - and ask for your prayers and continual intercession for us - much as I could ask to pray for me. No difference if, in fact, we believe the Holy Scriptures (we do) and believe that what Paul said about the nature of the Church. Worship is for God alone. No changes were made to the Ten, or any other Commandments.

John 14:6 Jesus said: "I am the way, truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Statues of saints are not the way to God, but only Christ. Place the thumbs down, but is arguing against Scripture.

Have you ever been in a Catholic church? There are statues of saints and Jesus and Mary all over the place. They changed it because they realized what they were doing was against the commandments, and do not want change. I agree that is wrong, and I see it as blasphamy to change the word of God.

You're right, they did change the 10 commandments. In fact, the book of Revelation says that the Beast (the Vatican) will try to change times and laws. The first commandment which was delivered from the 2nd - "you shall not worship any graven image, nor bow to them." They removed because they did bow to images (of Mary and the Saints) and adores. They changed "Saturday" in the command of 4 to "The Lord's Day" so we could say that God's day Santo Domingo, although the Bible says that the "Lord's Day" is 7 fifth day Saturday. Since I took the 2nd Commandment, which had to break the 10th Commandment in two in order to still have 10. So it became the 9th commandment: "Thou shalt be your neighbor's wife, not covet," and 10 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods." These changes are found in the Catechism, but ironically, if you read the New American Bible (the modern Catholic Bible), are the 10 commandments as originally written! Go figure.
