Why do the Protestants and Catholics assumptions?

complain about how they worship false gods and idols like Mary and the Rosary and how we believe that all non-Catholics go to hell. and how we think we can decide who goes to hell and who is not, and how we are more strict denomination.
You know nothing of our faith, yet you complain about things that even they do. That's called bigotry!
I do not think that all non-Catholics go to hell. We believe that no one can say who goes to heaven and who goes to hell, but God. N do not worship Mary, we praise you because she gave birth to Jesus. We do not worship the rosary, pray on it. that are not very strict. Some denominations believe that alcohol and dancing are bad, but Catholics consider it a way to celebrate (after all, Jesus did, even turned water into wine!) does not condemn people for lack of a couple mass (what Catholics call service) and no non-Catholic bash.
Get your facts straight before complaining to us!

  1. Sim - plicimus says:

This is based on ignorance of the Catholic church and tradition, about an anti-Catholic ministry, usually concentrated in the Protestants who call evengelical.
And then there are Chick tracts.
A number of modern Protestants know little of what the Reformation was really about. Fewer still, realize that Martin Luther was in the middle of it - and almost no one to speak coherently why Luther did what he did.
I am a conservative Lutheran is frankly amazed at the amount of ignorance towards the "mother church" on the part of at least some of my fellow Protestants.
You'll get some rude responses - some downright nasty - to your question here, but remember that your church has friends here, too.

Why Catholics to make assumptions about the Protestants?
I can almost promise that I know much about Catholicism as the majority of Catholics here do. I am a lapsed Catholic, a catechist for the Diocese license I live in and completed the training program for the program diocesan permanent diaconate. (Considered in this diocese the equivalent of a M.Th.)
Generalizations are made from both ends of the spectrum, as shown by their question. Let's stop and meet in the center. We are, after all, all Christians.

  3. Neil5624 says:

Especially the ignorance with a superiority complex. I was raised Baptist, converted to Catholicism after marrying a Catholic, because I felt fine. I thought that a religion that began at that time "was closer to being correct. Or maybe I just liked the ceremonial aspect of it too.

SERIOUSLY i do not know who has been talking2 but I am a Protestant and I go to Metropolitan Baptist Church, one, no one here or in my church community complain of Catholics or their forms of worship. Personally, I do not care whether Catholic or Protestant, because both are a praise to the Father, the Son. Also do not think it appropriate to charge all Protestants, because we all are not like that.

These are the myths that have DAT perpertrated from Luther Martin, and calvin.my favorite was a Pentecostal friend who saw my mother's obituary and said he regretted that he was going to hell for eating babies, environment it.I was sooo sorry i kicked his ***. So was the Catholic police arrived.

  6. Becky N says:

Well, I'm not sure why some people believe you. But if it makes you feel better, I'm a non-Catholic who does not believe that. So good luck to him. There are plenty of people who think that groups of people who believe things that do not. It sucks. I'm sorry this happened to you.

  7. baseball says:

I do not understand why even non-Catholics to us. I mean, do not tell us how to design churches, do not tell us why or how prey. It is true that we disagree on many issues, but do not call whores of Babylon for it. I mean, if you disagree with us, do not be Catholic, and only going to be. Are these people so insecure with their religious beliefs that * must * discredit our own?

  8. St. John Bosco says:

Protestant propaganda is all bs. Do not fall for their "Please accept Jesus into your heart today" things. That's just to lead you into Protestantism.
By the way, if someone says to you, just say they already have

  9. rukiddin says:

Nice, but never convince some so-called Christians who are Christians and not worship idols or go to others, like Mary, and pray instead of God. So you only have to respond to criticisms as they come.

  10. Colberti says:

Yes, Protestants can be real jerks. I think many Protestants feel threatened by more complicated of Catholicism, the practices of reading and writing, and therefore attempting to criticize.

  11. Kid Bacon says:

Maybe you could explain Catholics thoughts about Jews.
Everyone thinks everyone is wrong. Everyone knows that stupid.

  12. mvpwarne says:

because their church tells them that instead of actually finding themselves if true, simply believe everything they are told.

Thank you! I'm tired of them thinking that we think so. It's crazy! We are probably less strict churches.

  17. Fireball says:

im not complaining …. …. do what we are entitled to have an open mind … nobody tells me what to eat and whether to use birth control, etc … thats personal

  18. Silver Tongue says:

nice rant! We should note that after 1700 years back can be helpful. What the Catholic Church is now only a product of the will to survive, the time gave the church the knowledge about how to change and become the charity and the organization of the faithful is now. The only reason they have done this is to survive inthe modern age, as these days people will not stand for the old doctrines and policies. Oh, and on the Jews! Pius XII was Hitler during the Second World War. Look at the history of the papacy and Catholicism, you open your eyes to the horror he has unleashed in the name of God. Catholicsm is the personification of evil.
should also read John Cornwell, "Hitler's Pope: The Secret History of Pius XII." Viking, 1999. for a clearer perspective

  19. paradise says:

do what Protestants like me, I am a Catholic Christian, you can always protest against their own protests, and one can say anything, I really thought once to change its name designated, to complainants. What is the basis of religion in the construction of the protests on religion when they are out of shape, and I hate the idea of using the stick to teach children. I always will protest against it. "Children are my future and the future of mankind" so help me God. "If someone hurt one of the angels Innocent does not deserve to live" (Jesus), "Children of the world's will" (Jesus), "If you have, then one of the damage in his thinking and then treat as if the participation of me "(Jesus)

  20. Audball says:

Well, you have to understand the fact that Protestantism came about because the people were unhappy with the Catholic Church. When separated from the Church, which wanted to ensure that his followers knew "bad" Catholics.
Naturally, these beliefs have been transmitted to the current Protestant day. Unfortunately, people today do not feel the need to understand everything about a person or group of persons before the butts to be for them.
Movies like "Carrie" does not really help any, either.
I, for one, do not think any of those things that you consider all Protestants believe. I know many Catholics, and I think all are great fun to spend time.

  21. ~April B~ says:

I'm not religious, but obviously the Protestant Holy Bible we use. My husband was Catholic and was by choice. His family was not, but he took all the classes and became and was babptized in the Catholic Church. It is not Catholic, but it has nothing to do with what you wrote.
I've been serving all Catholics at once, so do not know what it is really as discussed Cathloic and regulate the practice of faith. I read a lot about it and consider a few things because I had considered converting myself. Anyway, the point is this … I'll give you that many people in many religions that are supposed to know things I do not know. I have personally corrected people when talking Catholism and they were wrong in what they were saying.
However, I am not so fond of some of the practices in Catholicism. First, Jesus says not to call anyone Father (in the church, because there is only one) or the rabbi (because there is only one teacher). Then he called the priests "Father" is a violation of that. Secondly, all the priests read the same sermon from a book on a specific date. The book he had used the stuff for the next year! I was totally surprised! For me (pay attention to that … not all Christians in the world - only to me) that is not anointed. I think all leaders should preach what God tells them to preach and be open to change or adjust the sermon. Third, the entire ceremonial material is a bit legalistic to me. This is where the Pharisees dirty! Otherwise, Catholics believe the same as Protestants - Jesus is the Savior. So really, is the same - is Christianity. Catholics have only their own doctrine as to all other faiths.
      Be Blessed!

  22. stashnut says:

At the risk of sounding like a fundamentilis could possibly be the work of the devil. For causeng dissension in the whole body of Christ, it hurts to spread the Gospel. Especially to attack the, largest body of Christians and a body that many including myself consider to be the true Church destroys any possibility of Christian unity and the call of Jesus: "Let all be one". Oh, and I am a protestent who decided to educate myself in the church attending RCIA classes and highly recommend them. Most Catholic churches offer them in September and can attend without being Catholic. Peace to us all.

  23. cdr & zrt = <3 (9/7/08) says:

Yes, some Protestants believe that shit. Not all of us do well. So thanks for asking a question that basically gives everyone permission to insult Protestants do not believe that BS. It pisses you off that people make false assumptions about their religion, but also bothers me that Catholics in this section are attacks on my religious beliefs. I have no problem with the Catholic Church nor anyone I know. Do not go to all Protestants because of stereotypes of stupidity and intolerance of some of us. That's like telling all Catholics are close minded when only some are.

  24. the Christian says:

He is the author and finisher of the Christian faith .. when something becomes the center of attention, eg
like Mary, the rosary, baptism, first communion, conformation
things like that … then becomes legalism on the border of the
idolatry. Christ is all you need and nothing more.
God loves you …. God bless

  25. wolf_bri says:

I do not know what you're talking to bash the Catholics all the time. Personally, I like knowing that my final mass (which take Protestant pitchers!)
Despite having something of a point on the cult of Mary, think of the Hail Mary, you are praying to the Virgin Mary or God? The same applies to the prayer of St. different religion. While it is an asset to raise their status to follow the teachings of God, well, sometimes the dose to go a little overboard.
