This is based on ignorance of the Catholic church and tradition, about an anti-Catholic ministry, usually concentrated in the Protestants who call evengelical.
And then there are Chick tracts.
A number of modern Protestants know little of what the Reformation was really about. Fewer still, realize that Martin Luther was in the middle of it - and almost no one to speak coherently why Luther did what he did.
I am a conservative Lutheran is frankly amazed at the amount of ignorance towards the "mother church" on the part of at least some of my fellow Protestants.
You'll get some rude responses - some downright nasty - to your question here, but remember that your church has friends here, too.

Why Catholics to make assumptions about the Protestants?
I can almost promise that I know much about Catholicism as the majority of Catholics here do. I am a lapsed Catholic, a catechist for the Diocese license I live in and completed the training program for the program diocesan permanent diaconate. (Considered in this diocese the equivalent of a M.Th.)
Generalizations are made from both ends of the spectrum, as shown by their question. Let's stop and meet in the center. We are, after all, all Christians.

Especially the ignorance with a superiority complex. I was raised Baptist, converted to Catholicism after marrying a Catholic, because I felt fine. I thought that a religion that began at that time "was closer to being correct. Or maybe I just liked the ceremonial aspect of it too.

SERIOUSLY i do not know who has been talking2 but I am a Protestant and I go to Metropolitan Baptist Church, one, no one here or in my church community complain of Catholics or their forms of worship. Personally, I do not care whether Catholic or Protestant, because both are a praise to the Father, the Son. Also do not think it appropriate to charge all Protestants, because we all are not like that.

I do not understand why even non-Catholics to us. I mean, do not tell us how to design churches, do not tell us why or how prey. It is true that we disagree on many issues, but do not call whores of Babylon for it. I mean, if you disagree with us, do not be Catholic, and only going to be. Are these people so insecure with their religious beliefs that * must * discredit our own?

Nice, but never convince some so-called Christians who are Christians and not worship idols or go to others, like Mary, and pray instead of God. So you only have to respond to criticisms as they come.

Yes, Protestants can be real jerks. I think many Protestants feel threatened by more complicated of Catholicism, the practices of reading and writing, and therefore attempting to criticize.
