Why people still worship statues and idols?
especially Catholics. charms bearing the saints pray to the Virgin Mary as if she is GOD …. and statues of her. What happened to thou shalt worship no other God than me. or do not worship false gods or idols?
- Why so many people think Catholics Worship Mary? And the Saints? As worshipers of idols?
- If Catholics are not engaged in Idol Worship, how about Hinduism?
- Why do Catholics Worship false gods (the Pope, statues, and the Virgin Mary)?
- Why so many people believe that Catholics worship false gods?
- .. Misunderstandings in the Catholic faith?

Catholics use statues, paintings and other artistic devices to remind the person or thing represented. As the mother helps them remember looking at his picture, which helps to recall the example of the saints by looking at pictures of them. Catholics also use statues as teaching tools. In the early Church were particularly useful for the instruction of the illiterate. Many Protestants have pictures of Jesus and other Bible pictures in Sunday school to teach children. Catholics also use statues to commemorate certain people and events, much as Protestant churches have three aspects in Christmas nativity scenes.
The command to "idols" is one of the most misunderstood scriptures. Consider Exodus 25: 18-19: "And make two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the deck. Make one cherub at one end and a second cherub on the other, make the cherubim of one piece with the lid on both ends. "Here God is ordering the pictures do!
So God contradict himself? First they say they do not make a graven image, and then ordered to be recorded images?
No, he contradicts himself. The problem is that people have misunderstood the word "idol".
According to Strong's Concordance, the original word in Hebrew which translated into an "idol" refers to idols (Here is the link of agreement: http://cf.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexic … <> ; http://cf.blueletterbible. org / lang / lexicon …). Of course we know that an idol is a false god, or something that is placed above God. From Cheribum are false gods, there is no contradiction.
So also, the statues in Catholic churches are not a violation of the commandment, either. They are not idols, because they are false gods. My church has a statue of an angel, as God commanded the Israelites to do. We have a statue of Jesus, which is certainly not a false God. We have statues of saints, because they are heroes of faith, not gods - as the U.S. has the statues of his heroes - Washington, Lincoln, etc. - and those who are not idols, either.
Conclusion: The commandments forbid images of false idols or false gods, but there is nothing wrong with beautiful artwork of Jesus, Mary, or angels
On the way there are many statues and pictures of Luther and Calvin in Germany, for example, is not this also idolatry?
Do not know. I am not Catholic, so I'm not versed in the way on these images.
Only to antagonize their fellow Christians and to avoid competition between them, as they are.
They help focus attention.
Yes, why are the Protestants worship a torture device?
Yielding to her knees before her, with her around their necks and show all of their houses and cars.
Catholics do not pray to saints is the same as asking his congregation to pray for you, prayer circles, or ask your pastor for help.
images serve as reminders not to be worshiped, but some ycan be implemented to help our worship of God we worship alone.
Why Protestants are still so ignorant on the matter, the Catholic answer to this question on an almost 24-7, does anyone really take the time to read our responses or use Catholic sources to see what we do, we believe and teach? http://www.scripturecatholic.com/index.h …
This site covers the prayer to the saints and misconceptions you may have.
Christian death if what happens to the fish or the cross taken from torture and implement a religious symbol
Have you heard of a God who was not false? All the gods are just superstitious imagination.
You mean like a man-made God??? You're right. When will they ever come to their senses?!
.
He did not worship idols. They are paying homage to the statues. Before criticizing the faith of others, please do some research about their religion and beliefs. It is extremely important in this age when we must exercise wisdom and tolerance among ourselves and not blindly believe a book of old age or other preachers who condemn.
Accept that not everyone is the same. Then everyone will live in a better world.
Well, for starters, is misuse of the word "statue". If they worship a statue, an idol. So you're saying is redundant "cult statues" and "Heroes."
Secondly, there are no statues of Catholic worship. N Catholic worship other than God Almighty. This was excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
Prayer is not to worship.
By praying with Mary or the saints, which is "like God" as you claim. Only request is made to Mary or the saints to pray to God on their behalf.
The use of a charm is not to worship, there are charms anyway.
All bow and use of candles and incense burning and not the same as worship. It often makes sense for someone who is worshiped, but not so for Catholics.
Worship is purely internal. Many things can be seen as bowing outward signs of worship, but they are not religious themselves, and thus one can not assume that someone is educated when you see them waving (and such).
Furthermore, religion can not be done by accident. For something to be truly religious, one must intend to be worship. No Catholic has the right intention to worship none but God, so by default, not suitable Catholic worship anyone but God.
Jesus is also on the list of false idols
have a new revised version of the Ten Commandments that he took the envelope worhsiping idols (Catholic) for all new Catholics not know I was there for all the cult they are told, and Mary who have made it more important then God in California have a giant metal statue of Mary, bigger than godzilla is very frightening, look for Santa Clara, CA, that will give you a good scare
what happened to thinking for yourself instead of quoting what some ignorant preacher tells you? worship yourself every day things, but you do not realize that
Not that it (repeated wearily). They ask Mary and the saints intercede on their behalf with God. Do not pray to them as if they are gods!
The statues are just a reminder.
And I'm not even Catholic!
Buddha said, "do not make the image of me."
This shows the inability of the mind to understand spiritual teachings high. It is the people's heart, the heart.
both theists and atheists are blind to this fact.
In fact —
Did not know they are only supposed to worship gods invisible and statues or amulets of them!
If you feel statues and "attractive" are against God - please refrain from re-using the computer, using any jewelry or have photos at home - because they are all images.
Why people still continue to lie about others. I have many religious icons like home. I trash them tomorrow because they are just warnings. if people listen to you it would go against God. Were these artesian not given a talent from God?! Miguel Angel is just off the hands instead of using the talents that were given by God.
Why people are still ignorant when they are told again and again - they are wrong in their assumptions silly.
For The Last Time! Catholics do not worship idols! ALSO NOT worship Mary! Did you ever go to a park or in the office of the city and see the statue of someone who has died? The statue is there to honor that person. Nobody is the worship of the statue. The same goes for Mary, Jesus, Joseph and the saints. These things are there to honor these people, not to be worshiped! Can not you see people or are you just going by what an idiot I told you! Jesus said in honor of Mary!
I'm not Catholic and I understand the concept!
Nobody has a statue or idol worship, really. What is worship the deity associated with it (sometimes, admittedly, is believed to live within it).
Catholics do not believe that Mary is divine.
"Charms" - Care to implement some denotation of that word! I know the connotation, but what is the denotation.
All generations will call me blessed. Do you honor it, or just use in the capping of an idiot.
Shame on you.
Because they are crazy. Crazy in the mind ……
Psalms 97:7 KJV
Confounded be all they that serve graven images, who boast of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
Jeremiah 10:14 KJV
Every man is brutal in his knowledge: every founder is confounded with the recorded image: the falsity of his molten image, and there is no breath in them.
Isaiah 44:9 KJV
Those who make a graven image are all vanity, and things delicious no avail, and are their own witnesses, who neither see, nor understand him ashamed.
There is nothing in the Bible to contradict what God says about the crosses, images recorded … is that not only are idols … which will become a God to whom the user / user.
Isaiah 42:8 KJV
I am the Lord, that is my name and I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.
Exodus 20:4 KJV
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image any, or any likeness of what is in heaven, or is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Leviticus 26:1 KJV
Ye shall make you no idols nor any idol, nor post a picture up, and you have not created an image of stone in your land, bowing to her, because I am the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 4:15. Take therefore good heed unto yourselves, because you have seen any kind of similarity in the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire:
16. Lest corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, the likeness of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17. The likeness of any animal on earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air,
18. The likeness of anything that creeps on the earth, the likeness of any fish found in the water under the earth:
19. And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and seeing the sun and moon and stars, and all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship, and service, which the LORD thy God divided the nations under heaven.
Deuteronomy 27:15 KJV
Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of a craftsman, and puts it in a secret location. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
Catholicism is idolatry. Catholicism teaches a false gospel of works ( "sacraments") that leads to eternal lake of fire (Galatians 1:6-9).
