I do not know that there are more gays in the clergy than in the
humanity in general. But often I have felt so sexual

Catholicism seems to attract or produce both gay men and lesbians. I have not seen any numbers on it, but I feel they are superior to those of the general population (although not as dramatically).
I see that in the Protestant denominations, however, and I'm not sure where you're getting the idea.
As for "getting away" with him, I think that Catholics are somewhat more concerned about their problem of pedophilia. Moreover, the Catholic Church has some excellent practical problems effectively swept under the carpet. Any large institution needs such practices if they persist in the long term, and of course the Catholic Church is the model of "large and persistent". If possible go with something, they will.

I do not think all priests are, but those who are, believe that joining the priesthood to try to overcome these desires.
What other man would choose a life of celibacy?

For centuries, the only safe haven for homosexuals was the priesthood, in which no one would doubt his desire not to marry and be housed with other like minded men. The fact that homosexuality does not carry the stigma it once did is why the priesthood is having an inability to recruit enough priests to carry out the fraud that is religion.

2. Some gay priests use the church as an easy way of dealing with the underlying problem of sexual orientation
3. Gay men are usually very loving and kind
4. This issue is too sweeping a statement and has no views of the issues of sexuality and Sprituality

In fact, the Bible condemns effeminate men, if you take it literally.
Being gay not a sin but does not hurt either. The Bible defines only the acts of sodomy, sex (anal), fornication (sex before marriage), adultery (cheating). Both gay and straight people can be guilty of these, but people choose to only point out the sodomy and fornication gay because they are a minority.
