Your question assumes that all priests are pedophiles, and that's ridiculous. 94% of priests are not pedophiles, and I would have no problem of trust with my children.

trust them to do? For religious instruction, the priest, of course … child care depends on whether one has more experience with children. The percentage of perverts in the priesthood is not greater than the percentage of the population in general so if that's what you mean, then either is a risk.
